Inferior process. As others have said, it's all to do with the digital printing process they are using, it's not refined well enough for the chosen application. The disappointing part is the lack of ownership/admission.
There was a really good explanation of the move to digital printing at one of this years Chicago Pinball Expo seminars.
Well worth a listen to what Bruce Westfall has to say about the printing process. Shame others don't have his knowledge & dedication.
