Thanks Stu.

#3 8 years ago

Can't wait to see it. I hope I sent my request in early enough to be in wave one!

#4 8 years ago

You can check the Pre-Order Page for current Status on each of the projects.....

#5 8 years ago

"we'll begin cutting the second batch as right after TAF or Fishtales". I have no idea where my order is in line. If its not batch 1, when will batch 2 be available? No worries either way, just curious. Thanks!

#6 8 years ago

"we'll begin cutting the second batch as right after TAF or Fishtales". That's all we know at this point, if we knew more it would have been in the update....

Instead of asking more stupid questions, I will continue to wait patiently. Again, very much appreciate the efforts to make this playfield happen. Thank you.

#9 8 years ago

Apparently you didn't read the Update on the web site or you would understand

Thanks for the updates Stu! Above and beyond as usual. Have a great week eh!

#12 8 years ago

Hell of a project.

#13 8 years ago

yep....almost 5 years in the making.....

#15 8 years ago

Mhhh ... sure, a great project but was more intereststed in the Lost Vegas project. Bought a Dolly, waited several years and the project died.
For the fans .. hopefully this project works better ! Its not my topic .. but looking forward for the TAF playfield.

All the best to CPR !

According to CPR the Lost Vegas project "is now back on track" and Stu is working on the artwork.

Oh I get it. Hammer of the Gods is a tribute band for Led Zeppelin that way there is no copyright infringement. I dunno for the price of this "boutique" upgrade I would expect the real thing with all kinds of real Led Zeppelin imagery like their symbols (Zoso) etc. Is it really that difficult to get permission from the Copyright holder especially at this stage in their career. That hammer looks like a penis with medieval armor.

#18 8 years ago
Quoted from SuperPinball:

Yes, it really is.

#19 8 years ago

No, Hammer of the Godz is Not a "tribute band"....Had you read the Backstory you would understand that Hammer of the Godz is the Theme of the game and LZ is simply the 'vehicle' to which I achieved the goal. The idea of HotG is the Mysticism, Myths, Celtic Artwork, Black Magic, Darkness, Alister Crowley, Nordic/Norsemen/Viking Influences "Behind" the band. HotG was never a LZ pin.
Read the Backstory Here: http://www.classicplayfields.com/hammer-documentation.pdf

Stu, I get what you're trying to do. And I did read the PDF.

But you've got pictures of the band members prominently all over the pin, so you can say that all you want and people are never going to internalize it. If you left the photos off sure, but come on.

#21 8 years ago

So basically I want to do a re-theme of a pin and I want that Theme to be "Racing" I can't show Cars, or Engines, or Tires, or a Track?

Quoted from Aurich:

Maybe it's a Plant/Page pin!

If you do that, but all the cars are Mustangs, people would be forgiven for thinking it was a Mustang pin.

If you're trying to do some legal dance around it actually being a LZ pin, then fine. But the backglass is their record label logo, and the band members are featured on the game. It is what it is, there's really no point in arguing about it. I'm sorry people on Pinside irritate you, but I'm not looking to pick a fight here.

#24 8 years ago

Stu if I have to read a backstory to understand the pin then I think the artwork needs to be redone. Sorry if I irritated you in any way but I guess in the end all I see is an image of Page, Plant and the swansong logo backglass with a penis like hammer of the gods on the pin. Sorry, I'm not an art guy and maybe Aurich is more qualified to offer advice on the art but as an average pin guy who happens to have grown up with Led Zeppelin, I feel that the art has missed the mark. If you are trying to make a Led Zeppelin pin, I think watching the Song Remains the Same movie may be a good source of inspiration. The image of page going up the mountain where that wizard like guy holding a lamp is memorable or Bonham with his racecar. Again I'm not an art guy, hopefully Aurich could chime in.

You mean I should buy an other Dolly, store it for 5 years and see what happens ?

No .. serious .. I would look forward to it. The theme was/is great and the layout also. I would love this machine but I will not think about it, I am on the list for it. maybe anytime my emailaccount sende a message: "Ready for shipout, give us your money and get your LostVegas" ...that would be great.

I hope not too many Vector's are sacrificed for this.

#27 8 years ago

100 Kits, 3,500 Vectors Produced = Less than 3%

Most Vectors that would be used for this conversion would be so far beyond restoration that it wouldn't matter as they would most likely never get restored anyways....

I just bought a 2nd Vector for $150 and it would never get restored as a Vector as it is simply too far gone, however, it will make a perfect candidate for this conversion......

Quoted from RazerX:

#28 8 years ago

I'll officially take any and all $150 Vectors.

PM me.

#29 8 years ago

I love what CPR is doing for the hobby, I just wish they would run more quantity of the really popular titles like TAF. The waiting list filling up so quickly should be a pretty good indicator of the demand for a title after all.

There is always hope of a second (or third?) run, but never a guarantee so it would be nice if the quantity was extended for the titles that fill up so quickly.

I realize there is a room issue for you guys, but it seems like it would be more cost effective to run more of a single title when you already have all of your setup for that up and running.

Michael,

Our TAF Playfield Quantity was Pre-Determind buy the number of wood panels & inserts that are to be shipped to us via PPS who inherited them in the IPB Bankruptcy.....We had no part of the decision making in the run length....

yeah, I jumped all over the one I found...Placed a couple of calls and boom > there it was...$150
It's a project game, and missing the board set, but who cares, it was $150 !

Any chance Black Knight will be run again.. or theres one laying around somewhere..

Awesome update, thanks STU!, CPR ROCKS!!!

No getting the Led Zeppelin license is super easy and incredibly cheap too. People have just been too lazy to make a Led Zeppelin pin. Probably because they hate money.

#35 8 years ago

Highly doubtful....We lost our ass on that project...it took 2 Separate Runs to do that set & we sold it for the price of a Single board. In order for us to re-run it we would have to sell the set for $ 1,500 just to break even ( no profit ). We ran 250 of those and it took us 5 years to get rid of all of them.

I do have 1 Set that I am willing to part with for the right price, feel free to PM me with an offer. My set is Mint, still in the original CPR Box, Hand Picked by Kevin as the best-of-the-run, and has 2 Extra Coats of Clear....

So that means that a re-run of the TAF playfields is even more unlikely?

And are you getting the blank playfields from PPS too? Did IPB have a bunch of parts to run more playfields but never ran them and that's why PPS ended up with them? Are they pre-routed and ready for inserts and sanding? Will they have the same issues the previous batch of IPB TAF playfields had?

I guess at the end of the day I'm wondering if there will be a re-run so more people - like myself - can get their hands on one of these playfields for their game.

IPB had a specific number of blank wood panels & a specific number of inserts for this title that IPB was going to use for their own run of playfields. PPS inherited them in the bankruptcy. PPS is going to send us everything they got. We will create our own NEW CAD File from an NOS ( not repro ) board.

#38 8 years ago

Stu,

Are you re-creating the artwork?

Will these be similar in quality to the last 2 CPR playfields I've purchased...Fire! and BadCats? (really nice clear-coat etc)

#39 8 years ago

For TAF? No. We are using the original Films from PPS, so we cant make any adjustments to the artwork.

Stu,

What are the planned numbers for Lost Vegas?
I ask because I have been hunting a Dolly Parton for over a year.
It seems like all Dolly's within 500 miles of me are being hoarded by collectors for the conversion.
They have been sitting unplayed and "waiting" for years to be converted and the market is completely dry.

I have no interest in the conversion, but it has made finding the original game next to impossible.
Basically, the promise of a Lost Vegas kit has nearly killed the possibility to own a Dolly Parton.

While the actual percentage of the total run produced may be very low, you have to understand that out of the surviving games still alive in 2015, it seems a huge amount of them are slated for the conversion.

#41 8 years ago

I don't know how many Pre-Orders we have for that, you would have to ask Kevin.....

Ok so that answers that..

So what will be the possibility of another run in the future?

I am not trying to be difficult, merely trying to determine whether there will be another opportunity to purchase a reproduction TAF playfield.

#43 8 years ago

Let's get through the First run.....then we can talk about a possible re-run.....we have enough Playfields lined up to keep us busy for the next 5 years.....and even if you are not on the Pre-order list for TAF Playfield I'm positive that more than a few will pop-up on the Secondary Market for sale.....

True... Unfortunately that secondary market will - in general - come with a premium.

#45 8 years ago

It always does, but at least some will be available

1 year later
#46 7 years ago

Is Hammer of the Gods still going to happen?
Adding this up what with isn't included in the CPR bundle...this could be a $3000 upgrade to vector and you have to program audio yourself.
Will the pinsound sound board work for older Bally's?
This topic I think needs a bump , LZ pin worth that at least.

#47 7 years ago

It's listed in their "Boutique Zone"......so if they have enough demand, they will make it.

Do you ever get an email back confirmation?

#50 7 years ago
Quoted from Ericpinballfan:

Why is STU inactive?

He got into a few arguments with people here and decided that the flak is not worth it for him.
His choice to deactivate his account.
I hope he comes back at some point.
