I'm trying to guage the interest level on a LAH Repro Playfield. How many people would be interested in seeing CPR do this title?
Please do not chime in with other Titles, I'm trying to keep this short & accurate.....
I have a LAH and the pf looks great, no cupping, lifting or chipping of the inserts, lettering on the inserts is great, colors on the pf are vibrant. Shooter lane has wear of course and it's had Cliffies on all the holes since day one from the looks of them. May be in 10 years we might need one. But that's just my game, others may be in worse shape.
LAH playfields are generally not burned out with wear. The wear is usually limited to the ticket and kick-out saucers in many machines. There are currently Cliffys to cover the hole wear and a small decal to cover the ticket wear.
I agree with others who believe the demand will be limited for reproduced playfield for LAH.
Stu,
Please consider starting another thread with a poll listing say 4 to 8 pins that CPR is considering making repro playfields for.
And start another thread with a poll listing say 4 to 8 pins that CPR is considering making repro backglasses for.
You should get quite a lot of responses to both of those, and it will be interesting to see the results.
Thanks for all you guys do for pinball. Cheers!
no I'm not going to do that....I was inquiring about the LAH as someone stepped up and offered me an NOS Playfield to use for the Scanning and Artwork. I really had no interest in doing LAH but after a discussion with Kevin yesterday he suggested that I do a Poll on Pinside as a guage, which I have now done.
The DE title I really want to do is DE Star Trek ( we can get the Licensing very easily ) and it would be a great seller, just need someone with an NOS Playfield to let us borrow it.....
That generation of DE Playfields were well made and had a good factory clearcoat on them. You don't see many really beat, with lifted inserts, etc, just mainly worn saucers holes and mechanicals with broken welds. I don't see the demand compared to any of the Williams games of the same era. As someone said earlier, swoping out a DE PF is PITA, time consuming/very difficult. Most people can tear down one on the top, clean, buff/polish and add cliffys, etc., and they look great and Play fine.

I don't have the game but that sounds interesting. You'd HAVE to do the plastics to go along with the new pf.
If there's no interest at the moment, it still might be worth simply scanning it and saving it for later use since the opportunity is there.
We already did the Plastics:

I don't see it on the Plastic Sets page on the CPR site but I see it with your link.
Long SOLD OUT...we ran them a couple of years ago, although if we did do the playfield we would of course do a re-run of the plastics
Quoted from Stu:T2 Licensing is WAYYYYY To Expensive
Even though there's no actor likenesses on the playfield? I would've thought that's where the bulk of the cost of a licensed theme would go.
Stu,I know you didn't want to field questions on other pins but it does pertain to other Data East pins.
The two that come in mind to me that scream a repro playfield are Batman and Star Wars. We know the history
of my first choice (Batman) and the popularity of the second.
I'm pretty sure it's safe to say the licensing is the main catalyst for Star Wars. But is it the same for Batman? Or
Has no one reached out to you with a nos playfield that you can screen? We know how rare those are!
I would love a repro PF for my LAH! However, I can certainly see the difficulty most people would have shelling out half the game's value for a new playfield.
Caker's modified code adds some nice polish to this game. Once it gets released it might bump interest in LAH.
BTW, many LAH owners might be overlooking this thread because it doesn't mention LAH in the title. Whatever you decide for now, I hope you scan the NOS PF for posterity. Thanks!

well it sounds like that combo would be a good money maker for CPR then and only half the work for you. Then you would have some time to go on vacation.
Not half the work > I did the artwork for the plastics......

Thinking I need a 2 year hiatus vacation from all this artwork

A couple months wouldn't be a bad idea so you don't burn out. Sounds like you are way ahead of production anyhow.
