Do you have the Coronavirus? Are you interested in learning more about the Coronavirus? Did you know that since the beginning of time more people in the US have died from shark attacks than have died from the Coronavirus? Are you wondering if N95 respirators will be a good substitute for wiping your butt when you run out of toilet paper? Would you like assistance in setting up a gofundme page to pay for your Coronavirus medical bills?

Please no politics, religion or science.

Got any stock tips?

I probably had it, and got over it. Had cold/flu like symptoms for the first time in decades. Rested a bit, and pounded Vitamin C and Echinacea. Feel fine now.
Let's move on.

Green tea with honey and lemon juice helped as well. I'm ready to kick butt again.

Important Announcement for ALL!

Masturbation boosts your immune system, helping you fight off infection and illness

According to Dr. Jennifer Landa, a hormone-therapy specialist, masturbation can produce the right kind of environment for a strengthened immune system to thrive.

A study conducted by the Department of Medical Psychology at the University Clinic of Essen (in Germany) showed similar results. A group of 11 volunteers were asked to participate in a study that would look at the effects of orgasm through masturbation on the white blood cell count and immune system.

During this experiment, the white blood cell count of each participant was analyzed through measures that were taken 5 minutes before and 45 minutes after reaching a self-induced orgasm.

The results confirmed that sexual arousal and orgasm increased the number of white blood cells, particularly the natural killer cells that help fight off infections.

Ohio cancelled the spectator portion of the Arnold Classic bodybuilding show due to the Corona-virus.

https://www.nbc4i.com/news/local-news/dewine-ginther-set-press-conference-on-arnold-classic/

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Government and health officials announced Tuesday evening that this year’s Arnold Sports Festival will go on as scheduled, but due to concerns about the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, spectators are barred from the event and the trade show is canceled.

The competition for athletes, however, will be allowed to continue.

One exception for spectators is the Arnold Classic World Bodybuilding Championship finals, scheduled for Saturday night at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The finals had prepaid tickets and are in an arena-style setting, minimizing the fear of the spread of the virus.

Gov. Mike DeWine and Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther held a joint press conference Tuesday announcing the change. Arnold Schwarzenegger joined the press conference via telephone.

DeWine said new guidance Tuesday from the Centers for Disease Control on large public gatherings led to the decision to close the convention and trade show.

It is all fun and games until it comes near you. We just got our first case in our county at 4pm. Aside from the mumbling morons talking about "Wash your hands", there are no answers to anything. Where was the infected person, where did they go, how long did they have it? It is a huge problem and people are not protected.....people start to panic when they don't know the whole story. Thank God you are not down here. Things are going off the wall in South West Houston right now.

Welcome to the club. We've got one too. If there's one, there are probably more...

The last I heard, there aren't a lot of tests to go around (they're supposedly coming soon though).

Does alcohol kill coronavirus? The biggest myths, busted

While the effectiveness of alcohol gels depends on the virus being targeted – which is why some alcohol hand rubs aren't very effective against norovirus – the coronavirus has an envelope structure which alcohol can attack. Hand sanitisers with more than 60 per cent alcohol content are most effective at killing microbes, but don’t try and make your own sanitiser at home. At best, it’ll probably be less effective than high-street versions and at worse you could end up severely damaging your skin.

I am not aware of testing times, but if you get tested , aren't those specimens supposed to get sent to CDC . Then you would know for sure? And does that take 3-5 days.?

Pinball owners are generally old. Coronavirus kills old people. Marketplace flooded with estate pins. Prices drop drastically.

The biggest issue IMO is whether or not you are infectious to others if you have the virus before you start showing symptoms. In which case we will all be exposed to it.

#36 4 years ago

The numbers are such that it seems almost certain that a huge percentage of people will end up infected. Italy went from ~500 to ~2500 cases overnight.

It seems likely that you are infectious before you start to show symptoms, and the symptoms people are showing are easily mistaken for the common cold.

It's kinda weird knowing that you're very likely to get this in the next few weeks.

It looks like local labs can run tests in-house in a number of hours if they have the test kits.

https://kstp.com/medical/what-the-process-for-covid19-testing-looks-like-coronavirus/5664936/

"The lab collects a patient's oral or nasal swab from a hospital or clinic. Lab workers are then able to pull out the virus that specimen may contain and compare it with positive samples of coronavirus from the CDC.

'That whole process takes -- from start to finish -- about six hours,' Sullivan said."

Seems like it's suspected, but unknown at present.

"The contagious period may begin before symptoms show and may last even after symptoms go away (SN: 2/28/20). Some published studies and some research that hasn’t yet gone through peer review suggest that period could be one to 29 days."

It will be interesting to read the case study on this virus, after the damn thing is contained and effectively managed.

Will who you get your news from ultimately affect your chances of getting and spreading the virus?

Had a local student come back from a trip to Italy. Was diagnosed and was told to self-quarantine. Instead, he choose to go to a keg party. Now here in a rural area we are probably going to have a lot of sick people, local businesses (movie theaters, restaurants, events) will suffer. Even the local hospital is advising people to put off appointments which will affect their bottom line.

Except you wake up with a hangover and told not to leave your house/apartment for two weeks.

Drive-through testing sounds like it mitigates the risk of going into a health facility, sitting in the waiting room and possibly coming home with the virus if you didn't already have it before.

"Can I get fries with that?"

Can taking a regular minor dose (25 mcg to 50 mcg) of supplementary Vitamin-D have a positive boost on the immune system and aid in preventing acute upper respiratory disease?

I try to get all my vitamins and minerals from healthy eating, but a few weeks ago I started taking a low dose of Vitamin D (25 mcg) and it seems to have helped push away the seasonal blues I typically experience around this time. Could it be something else like the Placebo effect or the fact that with temperatures warming up, I finally see the end of Winter in sight?

A ton of research has been done on Vit D, I think most articles did not show improvement in preventing resp infections. Fatigue maybe, but not rate of infections.. let me see if any new data.
