Quoted from Wickerman2:

Just saw this addressed in an interview. You can ingest it and it’s harmless to your gi system.
Anything else you negative nelly?

No. I’m good for now. All of the unmoderated political posts got to me ...

#1702 4 years ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

I wish I could show the video that is on youtube. Comedian Bill Maher is interviewing some senator. At one point the senator says you don't have to take an IQ test to be a senator. And then he realized what he said and his smile turned into a frown.

Lol, that sounds familiar like I have heard/read it before.

I always like this quote

“Hain't we got all the fools in town on our side? And hain't that a big enough majority in any town?”
― Mark Twain, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Quoted from Jaybird815:

It was civil earlier in the day.

Seems like it. Someone pops in starts spouting anti science talking points that were disproven 2 weeks ago just to troll and pick fights. This isn’t rocket surgery either.

#1704 4 years ago
Quoted from MSLONEKER:

Yes absolutely, its not the medical staff working 36 hours a day , or the researchers working feverishly to find new anti viral drugs for this. or the parents who suddenly find themselves unemployed trying to find ways to make ends meet. its the talking heads who tell us what to think. They read stuff so swell off the teleprompters that it must be true. Everyone raise your Koolaid glasses and toast -"to the media"

Sounds like you are talking about Sean Hanity.

One thing I am going to do when this is all over, is buy my lady friends at the local grocery store some gift cards.

Yep.... your exactly right. Time to hit Drain Thread on this one

You must live a sheltered life, pun intended.

I guess we can just change the title of the thread to "COVID political trashing thread". Seems like every other post is someone trying to out do the other.

We are all pretty crabby and anxiety-ridden. It sucks.

I probably took my last bike ride around town. It’s getting weird out there. Times Square was very unsettling. Lots of hustlers walking around. Bizarre clusters of tourists. It seemed like 1989 all over again.

On the avenues people are starting to get stupid. Driving really dumb. Just unsettling.

We rode bikes down 7th ave to my office to pick some stuff up and came back. I’m feeling a lot better just sitting at home.

We may go out tomorrow for short walks but I don’t think we are venturing out too far anymore.

Weird times for sure, unprecedented, I’m still working, but it’s solitary work, everything at home, I now know my wife’s middle name.

Let me tell ya about my day,
After having off Fri, Sat and Sun. I'm back to work at the grocery store. They cut out store level ordering. Corporate is just going to send us what the warehouses have. I normally order all the dairy products, teas, eggs and bread. This usually keeps me in the back room or office for a couple hours a day. So now I'm spending all my time out on the floor stocking shelves with my guys. About half way through the day I have this women standing about two feet away and starts having a coughing fit. She's right beside me! I have people on the other side of me, people behind me! I stopped what I was doing, exhaled and walked away as quick as I could. We have 2 confirmed cases just 10 miles away. to state they They do provide hand sanitizer and wipes but were out since I came back to work. They don't provide masks. They do provide disposable gloves though. But it's my job, have to go. Planning on retiring early so just 5 more years and now I have to deal with this crap. Just waiting on the call to tell me not to come to work because someone in the store has it or a customer that was there has it. Fun times here too.

I was not kidding.

Workers - especially at grocery stores and pharmacies - are heroes in all this. And any recovery legislation needs to ensure retail workers are taken care of. Yeah, we'll be bailing out the billionaires as fucking usual, but this time around everybody needs to be helped. Or our economy will never recover.

It's absolutely outrageous that they aren't providing proper Protective Equipemnt, sanitizer, or keeping the stores constantly clean, and enforcing 6 foot spread on customers. Just awful. I doubt you want to tell us where to work. It's not union, is it?

#1729 4 years ago

With all of your typical hazmat suits sold out I've purchased a new alternative to go out in.

Grocer clerks and stockers and delivery chain workers all deserve gold medals for sure, I’ve yet to see empty shelves, except on perishables, which tells me I’ll survive an apocalypse.

Dude, you need to start talking with other people at work and start making some demands. I cannot believe every one of you isn't getting sanitizer or equipment. Management is putting everybody, including the public, at risk.

And if some lady starts coughing, I'd order her to leave the store. This is not "customer is always right" time anymore. And management / security (there IS security there, right?) needs to be spacing out customers and keeping the store empty enough so people can spread out.

Goddamn. Just ridiculous. This is why people need to stop being so encouraged by China. What they did was light years beyond what we are doing right now.

I usually work Tuesday. But today I rebuilt the flippers on High Roller Casino and made lasagna from scratch. And got hung up on by my daughter because I keep harping she needs to get her oil checked and have them add some before her engine burns up.

Tomorrow it's Home Depot so I can get some painting supplies before they shut down.

Covid-19 has had a major impact on the company I run, as we are tightly aligned with the hospitality industry. Today I had to go into work and lay off 41 employees. It was a long, daunting, and emotional day. My fiancé was well aware of what was going to happen today and she sent me several texts of encouragement throughout the day. However, when I got home late from work and finished dinner I went downstairs to my computer to send out a few emails and she had made and placed this on my desk, which brought a big smile and chuckle. She is so awesome.
