I think you're too afraid to Google "China blames US coronavirus" otherwise you wouldn't be up in my face being wrong. Also, you really think thousands of security camera videos have been painstakingly faked for propaganda since 2017? By whom? For what purpose? So China could show the world what a dystopian hellhole it is?
The Chinese weren’t too happy with our leaders calling it the Chinese or Wuhan virus. A few congressmen even floated the idea of it being a bio weapon escaping a nearby lab into the Wuhan food market.

Actually I did. I found lots. The only name I recognized was the NY Times. That said this...
"A Chinese official who has a history of attacking the United States online has lent a voice to a conspiracy theory."
Do you think that's any worse than
What has been said by U.S. government officials and their conspiracy theories.
Angry Children... This crap doesn't solve anything.
Common sense.
And BBC News that says conspiracy theory. But then goes on to prove the Chinese officials confirm bats at the Wuhan market the cause.
So what would you rather believe?
China released it on themselves to blame the U.S.? Or the U.S. released it on China in hopes it didn't come over to them.
Or it was just an accident because of unsanitary conditions in a food market with contaminated animals?
Up to you really. But I prefer common sense.
How's that dual citizenship working out for you? Blinding you to every news network's report including the CBC? I didn't ask to be inundated by this all day on every channel, I just retain information.

Nope, just smart. And have lots of free time to use my brain. I'm not a mindless drone. I've been home on disability for the last 2 1/2 years with an autoimmune disease. Lots of time to do research. I like to think for myself, and not believe everything I hear or read. If it sounds like bullshit, it's probably bullshit.
Common sense.
Science and Nature are American publications so I call your claim that that is a "chinese scientific journal article" fake news and I am factually correct. Isn't it fun to nitpick things in order to obfuscate truth rather than further it?
Well Common sense seems to be lacking in the world today.. here are two cases,
Both were/are positive.
Why would you travel if you were waiting on test results?
Message well understood. Won't be letting them do any of those tests knowing that they'll be able to delay the results indefinitely and suspend the privileges I enjoy as a human on earth (flying on airlines, for example). FEMA Death Camps, right erak?
Since getting a SARS-CoV-2 test is a worse social stigma than getting an HIV test now, will laws be enacted to ensure the medical privacy of those afflicted by plague and banned from flying for life? Maybe Tom Hanks can make Philadelphia 2 about being an out-of-work actor who can't get hired since he took a coronavirus test.

I don't want to really continue this argument.
But....you obviously don't know how to interpret scientific journals. You have to view the scientist names and see what institutes they work for. The journal is only where their findings are published. Here is one name I did for you.
http://english.whiov.cas.cn/ne/201806/t20180604_193864.html
So published in an American journal. Buy chinese scientists findings- in China.
So how can China blaming the U.S. be a true statement. ( Not China, 1 guy)
If their own scientists, and government officials. Are speaking with other world leaders. Tell them it's from bats that started in the Wuhan market and also have them publish their scientific study? Which is saying, that's where it comes from.
Obviously that chinese Twitter guy is spouting bullshit. And conspiracy theories.
Or what has been said in the U.S.
China released it on us to kill off a bunch of the elderly population. Fuck up the world economy. For a couple weeks And kill around 2% of the elderly and people with pre existing Heath problems over the rest of the globe. Even their own.
Common sense.
So... it was just an accident because of unsanitary conditions in a food market with contaminated animals in a country that is overpopulated. And eats all kinds of animals. Because of lack of food.
That's what the U.S officials and scientists have said. And that's what the Chinese government (except for 1 man) and scientists have said. Canadian government and scientists have said. European gov has said etc. Etc.
And they are I'll continuing to work together to put this shit to an end.
Shit that's said on twitter isn't even newsworthy.
Yup. Hopefully common sense prevails. I'm glad I know that all the Canadians I know, have enough sense to wash their hands.
Quoted from Whysnow:[quoted image]
Not sure which side that's directed to, which makes it perfect.
Haven't seen it everywhere yet but yesterday there was a lady standing in the self checkout at Walmart wiping the pinpad and screen after every person went thru. At superstore they actually stopped the line every couple people to wipe the conveyor belt and pinpad.
The only sides now are the plaguewalkers vs. the uninoculated. Silverball and I, as survivors, will rule you all like Tarzan in the new jungle wasteland.
I doubt that someone who believes with regularity in Conspiracy theories takes much time to prove themselves wrong.
So, I too, am disabled, but read through a dozen or more differently owned, and different country news.
Things move so fast, we forget the order of it happening.
When the "blame" game started here, 1 word was not heard anywhere, then when needed, after
fingers starting pointing, the word "hoax" was used. After all the person saying it has had success with this. The rhetoric flew, and blame was needed.
Remembering specifically that Murdoch started running "Blame China" on his media here, in support of
protection, this perspective after 2-3 days ran globally on his owned Media channels.
I watched and read this move globally. There are video montages of all TV hosts pressing blame over and over. Thursday, it was the only news, after China asked it to stop and an apology. After all THEY see this blame, anger, and threats getting flamed globally.
We know, that isnt happening here, so one story, by one person becomes the only view, that a US soldier brought it to China, and Xi's Anger threatened stopping sending chemicals that are used in testing.
This, on Reddit and 4chan, among others, became "China threatens to hold all medicine to help kill Americans". In addition to the virus. Bomb China, was heard often. Additional voices added that it was done by opposition party.
Now why All of this? Because its easier to pass and find blame, and create anger, especially if its tied to politics, and has a global spokesperson.
Human Nature. Almost All plagues, for 3500 years have been blamed on Jews/Hebrews, and actions followed. We have countless examples from the last hundred years, and lots before that.
Now, if our answer is to focus and mass on blame...history shows some bizarre and radical behavior...like panic hoarding essentials.
Blaming others, also adds a layer of protection for any leader. "Not my fault", is the schoolyard method of protecting oneself, rather than saying, "regardless of fault, its my responsibility"
In todays fast and erroneous info, it makes sense to play both sides of the coin.
Its kinda sad that anything will be made up and said for self preservation, especially if it involves power and money.
But choosing which side of the Yin/Yang symbol one stands has always been human nature.
Learning to live on the line in the middle is hard.
I just wish we'd stop getting the "I think " or "I feel" from the news and just state the facts. If countries would be transparent and give the actual data about number of cases, deaths etc the panic would be eased or at least founded on hard numbers not speculation and we could calm down the market and get back to work.
Quoted from cottonm4:I buy in bulk and am not part of the TP chase action going on
It looks like you have lifted that TP from work. Those large rolls, and the wrapped single rolls, are not something available in a grocery store.

Ski lifts out here were only letting singles and travel companions ride lift together. Lines were super long.
Then they shut down all the mountains altogether....only our #1 tourist industry.
Then we had st patty’s parade cancelled, yet the irish-ish bars were packed with 20 somethings. Packed.

Anyone can walk into any restaurant/office supply place and pick those up. Staples has them instock online: https://www.staples.com/Brighton-Professional-Jumbo-Roll-Bath-Tissue-2-ply-White-12-rolls-case-BPR26215/product_365379

Yep, same thing around here. Bars were packed with people in their 20s for St Patty's day. Theres some people that wont take this seriously no matter what they're told. Asking them to take simple common sense precautions is a bridge too far.
I guess Pornhub is offering free premium service to Italians right now since they are under quarantine.
Perks of the virus I guess?
Quoted from erak:The media has to stop feeding this thing.
Today....
A press conference with the president and CEO of the Retail Council of Canada. Says all supply chains are fine and to stop hoarding items. There is enough and stores will continue to be stocked. They were just overwhelmed by panic shopping.
And that's why some essential items are gone.
That speech lasted about 5 min.
Then... The news anchors talk for 30 min about "what if" stores ran out. Then had "experts" on answering and talking about the worse case scenarios.
Way to put the public at ease fuckers.
And then you wonder why people are panic shopping?
The media's behavior and fear mongering is disgusting.
If you're not sick, go to work. If you're sick, or someone in your home is sick stay home. See a dr if it becomes worse than the normal flu.
Otherwise go about your normal business. Stay a bit further away from people. Wash your hands after touching something or wear gloves. It's not that hard.
It's common sense.

Exactly!! Good post
Even though there's been a lot of negative media attention about the virus there is a lot of good going on in terms of dozens of states and cities limiting large gatherings, cancellation of big events, some companies offering paid sick leave, the bipartisan govt deal reached last week, grocery stores being restocked, etc.
Overall I think we are going to get through this better then expected. The United States has always come together in dire situations. Two weeks ago people were still ripping each other apart over every day life but now are starting to come together. Our resolve is one of this countries biggest strengths.
Quoted from Darcy:It looks like you have lifted that TP from work. Those large rolls, and the wrapped single rolls, are not something available in a grocery store.
Wrapped rolls are Amazon bulk buy.
The large rolls were bought at the Friday night auction. 12 for $6.00. That’s cheap TP.

Quoted from Jaybird815:The hoarding thing must be regional, as I haven’t seen empty shelves on anything around here.
yeah me neither. I’m sure it’s happening, but my downstairs market and the bigger supermarket a few blocks away have all been fully stocked and sane through all of this.

You can still find TP on Amazon but the prices have gone up.

All but the most stubborn morons in pinball realize this now. I don't think we'll see any large pinball gatherings again till the Fall.
Anybody still insisting on doing smaller events - league nights, etc. - should have their heads examined. There's still a few irresponsible, stubborn hold outs.

We are in the easiest war we have ever faced as a country. To win it, all we have to do is stay home, watch Netflix and eat Doritos for 2-3 weeks. I am afraid we are going to lose.

Exactly right, but the 2-3 weeks is way shorter than this will last.

I know why your stores are stocked to the ceilings. No storage space. We see these articles about how people in NY live in these little bitty apartments with room for a cot and a Bunsen burner. And a common bathroom at the end of the hall.
No storage space is my reasoning

It's true. A pallet of of TP doesn't even look out of place in the corner of a 3 car garage out here in the burbs.
