Nothing too exciting. Ordered a color DMD for Breakshot, and LED's for Dr. Dude.

Added a Color DMD to my Capcom Breakshot. Holy crap is this nice.

    After:

The videos don't do it justice. I will try to get a better video with a real camera

Yesterday was just some simple basic maintenance after work.

Replaced a frayed plug on my Space Duel arcade machine, and replaced a broken post on Pinball Magic. Nothing as exciting as the other stuff here, but needed to be done.

    Quoted from Apinjunkie:

Finished my shuttle, still have time on my hands maybe too much. Installed a set of comet optimax Amber/Orange LEDs in my dog over the weekend. Maybe too bright but I definitely think it'll give her a leg up on the squirrels at night.[quoted image]

LOL, I was going to say those look like extra brite LED's.

I rebuilt the drop target assembly on my Dr. Dude this morning. Now they "snap" down rather than slowly "slide" down. Much more fun.

Installed 1.3 ROM's on Breakshot. Now I have the Cutthroat Countdown mode and full color on te color DMD. Thanks Astill!

Added some decal protection to T3. Well, the decals were already messed up, but now they won't get more worser.

Well since I am super basic, and apparently have a little OCD, I replaced all the insert LED's on Bad Cats and Phantom of the Opera with non-ghosting LED's.

I bought both the games with LED's already installed, and the ghosting really bothered me. LOL

Like I said, basic but effective.

    Quoted from LTG:

I'm thinking of shopping my original MM today.
Not sure I want to start. Everything I did yesterday went wrong. I even screwed up a parts order.
Once MM is done then I have all the games in the back, and the JJP row up front done. Only 8 games left to do.
    LTG : )

I always screw up a parts order Lloyd, don't feel bad. I once placed a $500 order with Marco and forgot the main thing I REALLY needed. D'oh!

    Getting there.

Got the Dr. Dude back together, and now it looks like I'll be chasing down a switch matrix problem

I probably (I am hoping) missed a connector on the underside somewhere. I REALLY hope that's all. What's odd is that the VUK fires continually in attract mode.

    Quoted from Lhyrgoif:

Doing a teardown of the topside on my newly bought Whitewater; cleaning , machine polishing all metal and replacing broken plastics. Will ofc service the underside too.

that game sure does look different without all the ramps on it!

    Quoted from TheLaw:

Still getting closer...Jesus shit christ, I can't even get this done in a pandemic, how I was in planning to do it normaly?
Anyway, guys it's totally weird but I'm having problems, like I'm at a loss.
The machine worked fine before I took every single piece off of it, but now it's full if issues?!?

    [quoted image]
Edit 1: oh and you can go blow yourself with the whole "drilling PF holes for metal guides. "
    I've never felt more pressure

I feel for ya man. My Dr. Dude is the same way. Worked fine but was dirty, so I shopped it out and now it's got switch issues

    Chris

    #481 3 years ago
    Quoted from LTG:

Still ? From MPU to switch, verify color wires are the same all along. To be sure something isn't going to the wrong thing.
    LTG : )

Yep. The ramp entrance switch isn't registering now. The upkicker is acting up as well.

    I'll get there.

Here is first color of my pin I am stenciling . Yellow will be next and then clear coat.

OOOOOOOOOOH!!! Cosmic Gunfight? What an amazing machine that is! Looking great so far!

Finally got things all sorted out on the Dr. (I think). Time to button it up and play test (extensively)!

    Quoted from Tsskinne:

Body now done, small spot of blue touch up but overall really happy with how it came out.
    [quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Is that lobster (or whatever it is) giving us the finger?

    Chris

    Quoted from Tsskinne:

I can only guess at the scorpions intent, but I’d have to assume yes.

Now that you said Scorpion, it makes sense. I see it. LOL. It was early, and I hadn't had my morning libations. LOL

I still say he's flipping us off. how rude!

So many mistakes were made, but I was able to recover from them. Not sure I'd ever do it again based on the amount of work, but it's not bad for a first time restore.

Wow! Looks like a new machine! Just out of curiosity - is that a replacement playfield. I've never seen the area by the skill shot black before.

Be proud of all your hard work! looks great!

I finished the coin door today. It was completely disassembled, cleaned, painted or polished. I think it is much better and will go well with the freshly painted cabinet.

Meh. I guess it turned out OK.

SERIOUSLY??!! That looks AMAZING! I don't know how anyone could be disappointed with a result like that. Well done!

Off topic, sort of. These were all down a week ago. I hope they stay up longer this time.
    [quoted image]

I have never played Gravitar, but I SO want one to got with my Space Duel and Black Widow. Love me some Atari vector goodness. Congrats on getting them all going!
