How the hell did I miss this thread before? Nice work to everyone in here. Just went through all 8 pages.

First game I tackled three weeks ago was my Hulk. Complete tear down, new parts all around, Titan kit and polished every piece of metal.

Right before that, had to make a new light panel. And installed a new Shay backglass.

Also picked this up last weekend...needs a little bit of work (some of the targets aren’t registering). Amped to have my first shooter game though!

    Do you own a 'Chiller?'

Hahaha. No...I’ve never even seen one in person. I’ve heard it’s pretty damn gory though.

Not as sweet as Law’s Catacomb playfield. Still working on this, which might be more comparable to his effort.

    Some before and after...

Also picked up a Contact last Thursday. Liking it a lot despite all the hate I’ve heard for the game. Not easy at all to spell out Contact five times for the extra ball.

Had to rewire the coin door last night. Wasn’t functioning other than the “aftermarket” credit button, and no lights. For some reason not having the price plates lit on a coin door really bothers me. Polished it too.

And on to Lizard now. Stripped it down last week. Removed mylar residue (always not fun).

Did some touch ups on the PF, still needs a little more in the middle. But need more paint colors.

    Still...time to reassemble.

    Quoted from Silverstreak02:

I hope that works for you. I tried it on two games without success.

Any PF pitched over 5.0 to 5.3 should avoid catching the ball, unless the inserts are cupped like a damn crater.

You can also level them with superglue or liquid glass if you don’t feel like popping them out, sanding and resetting. Someone pointed me to clear nail polish, but it seems like that would chip out eventually.

    Quoted from rotordave:

if I started naming every pin repair I’ve done in the last 4 weeks of lockdown, this thread would be 10 pages longer. Lol!

Go for it. What else is anybody doing? Work on the Stern Iron Maiden and post some pics. It’ll be like pinball porn.

Awesome work on the Zeppelin pin.

bought that and the Catacomb from an old guy who bought them here from England years ago. Both very tidy. Probably the only ones in the country ...

I’m sure they very well may be. Awesome looking example man, even the apron.

Got a nice row all working and shopped (Contact rubber kit on order)...switching gears to this thing that was tucked away in a corner.

Was able to play with it a little and get some sounds and lights, but it’s not booting and no control buttons illuminated. Tube display not running.

Anybody else ever work on one of these? I haven’t.

Wanted to play this thing, so forced to spend some time rewiring the rectifier board on the Stern Drac I picked up yesterday. And it’s a newer Rottendog, so of course I had to replace two fuse clips that had snapped already too.

Resoldered some wires under the PF, de-puked it and changed up some LED’s. And always switch to the free play price plates.

Then played the hell out of it without even moving the game.

I shifted gears tonight. Stoked to get this thing up and running about 95%. Reflowed the display to get that fully working, reflowed the MPU, replaced all the lights. Got all the rust/oxidation off the gun barrel and pedestal.

Still have 4 targets not working.

On to the mechanics! Calibration off? There has to be some way to calibrate this thing.

I love those early-70s Bally 1- or 2-player games. Makes me happy to see one revived and released back into the wild!

I just did a full tear down on a Bally Safari. Picked it up last month for my daughter (she’s all about tigers and large cats), and the game was a complete disaster. Cab was painted over, but the PF cleaned up very nice. I’ll have to redo the touchups the prior owner did around the pops.

Already in the middle of three other projects, so not exactly sure why I started this one. LOL.

But she wanted it done, and she’s the boss. I told her she’d have to contribute, and she is.

    Quoted from LTG:

Than at noon on Wednesday open for business.

“Thursday - help Colson with a few issues on his Devil’s Dare”. Make sure that’s on your calendar.

Congrats on the re-opening. Next time I’m out your way, I’m definitely stopping by for a friendly game of billiards.

    Quoted from PinballManiac40:

Visited a friend tonight and had replaced 1 burnt coil/transistor on the Farfalla up/down ramp and 3 coils/transistors on Magic Castle. 100% working now.

    Awesome. Two great games.

    Quoted from Silverstreak02:

I finished the coin door today. It was completely disassembled, cleaned, painted or polished. I think it is much better

Looks pretty damn good to me. And as for it not being a “mirror”, I can see your reflection just fine. Nice work.

Painted blue on the sides of the cabinet. I need to get more blue and paint the front. Then I’ll fix a few spots where the red peeled some.

    Looking good man. Very clean.

I started sanding the backbox yesterday on the Bally Safari I’m working on.

...and reassembled the coin door. Thought I’d do something a little different with the powder. A little before and after:

Looks great. Now get back to the Spiderman!

I am!! Haha. Waiting on other people when you need things done is the worst.

    Quoted from Apinjunkie:

So three months ago on this very thread I claimed that my space shuttle was finished. That's ridiculous, these projects are never finished, just abandoned. I've Been a Long Time Shuttle owner and for at least a decade I've wanted to create a three-dimensional modification over the pop bumpers. Thanks to a little extra covid-19 time at home and countless pinside members that helped along the way, I can now say ,"look what I've done here" instead of," one of these days I'm going to do this here".

    That’s awesome!

    Quoted from swampfire:

I’m getting a lot done during my 2 weeks off between jobs. I was about 90% done with a Mata Hari playfield swap, then my new C37 playfield came in. If I can get it swapped and back in the game by Friday, it’ll be a new record for me. Usually I sit on a new playfield for years before I get around to doing a swap. But this one is way too pretty to sit.

    That C37 playfield looks sweet!

Bought a nice DE Batman two weeks ago, 8 hour trek each way. The day after I got it home, it totally crapped out. Good ol PSB, and the ever-crispy CN1 & CN8 connectors.

All fixed. Said screw it, and got the Gulf replacement board. I’ll rebuild the old one for a back up.
