Landed 3 pins from Los Angeles on Tuesday - the day before we were locked down. Ripped up to the depot to grab them as soon as I could, otherwise they’d be sitting there for 4 weeks.

Spent the last few days sorting them out.

Big Brave

Got them all converted to 230v.

Shopped up the NASCAR and threw in some Comet 2SMDs.

Big Brave worked ok out of the box.

The Grand Prix had termite damage to the cabinet - filled that with filler. And the playfield had mondo ball swirl, the old alcohol and magic eraser fixed that up nicely. Cool game, probably the only one of the three that I will keep.

I have a number of games that need to go from rubber > Titan—I will start with Star Trek and move my way around the collection. I should also do light shop jobs on a few games just to make sure the surface dirt is off.

Finally getting around to shopping Radical, going with cool white frosted LEDs and regular white bands. I’ve sort of gotten tired of the way the superband / aftermarket rings play so keeping it OG there and going back to regular rubbers

Finished rebuilding the high voltage section on a LW3 power supply for a new friend and previously repaired the DMD controller board for it as well. Ready to give them back tomorrow to get his project game running for the first time since he bought it over 2 years ago.20200328_222751[1] (resized).jpg

Today’s project - pulled out my last project game, which has been stored since 2010. (!). All my other games are up and working.

This CV is a very rough import from Italy. Playfield has some hope though ...

Got the cabinet all repaired and sanded today.

On to the playfield tomorrow.

#sky-rider now has comet LEDs in backglass and under the table. I'm leaving incandescents up top because I prefer how they look. I now have a lifetime supply of #44 and #47 bulbs.

Also, got my first real look at the reverse side of the backglass, not so bad. A little flaking along the bottom right (two figures) but minimal. Need to figure out the best way to stabilize without going to crazy.

I started to dig into game settings (3/5 ball, award levels, add-a-ball vs. replay) but did not get too far. I prefer a satisfying POP of a replay award (assuming that's functional) even if the game is set for free play. I also ran through a 4 player game to make sure all the functions and score reels worked.

It's pretty much ready to make it's way to its new home once the pandemic restrictions lift and they make space for it....which could be a while (my friend had knee surgery right before the crisis and is still recovering). However, now that I've proven to myself that 3 machines fit in my basement with room for maintenance, I'm clearly gonna be open to another machine (once my personal economy stabilizes) - but I'm definitely looking at something a bit more compact (wedgehead) - the head of Sky Rider is a beast!

Continuing to crank through all my games. Finally shopped out Robo-War with all new posts, a brand new plastic set, rebuilt flippers, and I have an NOS translight waiting in the wings.

Next up on the docket will be hardtopping Taxi.

Now after letting my body rest. Until the end of April I'll clean games and organize a couple cabinets better.

Space shuttle, a personal favorite of mine. Looks like you have almost everything you need. I just finished a hardtop install on my shuttle and you may find that an extra bottle of that gin might come in handy. Looking forward to see how those GID rubbers are going to look in that machine. hope you post updates here or at the shuttle Club. Good luck

I just finished a total tear down, clean and adjust on a Bride of Pinbot I just got. It spent a year or so in a bar, getting absolutely hammered on. So all things considered, i think she came out nice!

Nice job! The game looks gorgeous! If you can find a set, I highly recommend some playfield support rails to finish it off.

terrapinmark has a set for me. So needed, there a lot of weight on that play field.

That cleaned up nice. Nah PATZ is still 3 weeks away. I just finished up a Frontier I’ve been working on since last summer and I’m working on Skateball now.

Almost finished with swapping the playfield on Gorgar along with new pops, plastics, drops and upgraded flippers.

Finally getting around to making a control panel for my MAME machine in an Atari Kangaroo. I’ve had all new parts sitting in boxes for years from the casters up including a NOS overlay, quality buttons and joysticks, light-up credit buttons, the works. I have a USB spinner coming in from Ultimarc in London so I can play Arkanoid the right way! Believe it or not I started this project in college nearly 20 years ago, now is the perfect time to get it up and running for the kids.
