Michigan gave the order and I'm in the club. Luckily I work in building supply and am at least partially employed.

Helped a trusted non-infected friend retrieve a 1973 Triple Action out of storage today. Ideally it'll be running by the time this thing is over. At the same time, I pulled a few parts: box of LEDs to go in something, a dead Pinbot CPU that I will be doing some board work on, and a couple other things.

At home are two parted out playfields that I need to finish stripping down, one with more rust than the other. Polishing is going to happen, most likely, and the prospect of more free parts for Volcano Blast is a goal that motivates me.

Totem needs re-pinned edge connectors, Swords of Fury needs a new lock saucer switch, and there is still plenty of work ahead of me on the homebrew.

On a glass half full positive look it appears Covid may be the cure for procrastination! At the end of all this there will be Many beautiful fully operational games out there for all to enjoy for many years to come. Liking this thread!

I'm currently customizing a Spooky's Rick and Morty, DP The Big Lebowski for a customer.

As well as a Stern Jurassic Park Pro, and Stranger Things Premium will be up for sale when things get back to normal. These 2 machines were the ones going to TPF 2020, but that didn't happen this year.

The good thing is, I get to play them as well .

    Please Stay Safe everyone,

Finishing up a CPR Bally Playboy PF swap. This the digital version. Not as nice as the silkscreened IMO having now had both. Registration errors galore. Used a new brad bit for drilling holes for posts. Several times when the clear was just cut thru, it would remove a small section of artwork beyond the drill bit edge. Luckily the post will cover it. Only about 20% of the dimples on the bottom where it the correct spot. Some were off as much as 4mm. Installed the freshly painted rails today and everything was lining up nice till I went to install the shooter lane arch. Top side was drilled about 1/8" off from the bottom. Total WTF.

Doctor who time expander has been....expanded.

Hopefully I’ll be able to un-expand it when the rest of the parts show up.

New rollers and synthetic grease, opto carrier, opto boards, motor / gearbox, lamps, cliffys, and misc hardware.

I’m debating on connector Repinning...everything rings out. But while I’m in there...

Should be good for another 20 years when I’m done!

I'm working on a fairly beat up Bride of Pinbot. I have it working 95%, just about to tear it down and scrub it. I'm also working on a SEVERELY beat to crap High Speed that works, except I need lane change switches for the flippers. Those should be here tomorrow or Wednesday. Once those are done, I will do a strip and shop of our TAF.

Flash, which has had its playfield in "clean and paint" on top, and "clean and rebuild" underneath for 3+ months, got the last pieces attached this afternoon! Next is replacing the 40-pin interconnect between the MPU and Driver board, as the game had multiple personality syndrome when the two boards were revived from battery damage.

Finally getting back to my Flight 2000 restore. Good progress this weekend soldering the new ground braid to the new lamp sockets. A few more mechs to clean and polish then i’ll populate the top side. Weather should be nice enough to spray the cab soon too.

I got my order of Reese Rails (not on yet, the shitty old ones are temp installed) and a few odds and sods from PBL recently. Glad i ordered when i did - dumb luck really lol

Filled inserts with Minwax Polycrylic. Wasn't planning on
clearing playfield because it looked like someone had
varathaned it years ago but needed to replace pop bumper
skirt so decided to rebuild all 3 and figured WTH.
Used Spraymax 2k last year on a wing ding playfield but
went with buying the purple hvlp gun and spraying the
Minwax Polycrylic on this because of already filling inserts
    with it.

A bit of rust on the metal parts, but I suspect it'll polish out once I learn a few more things about polishing. Playfield is very dirty but actually in nicer shape than my functioning Police Force. Might end up using this for a swap - if I determine the game is even worth that much work!

My last post on this thread was #13, eight days ago. The space shuttle is now ready for liftoff. Next up, Mars God of War. Afraid I'm going to need more than 8 days to have this one ready for finished photos. still, would rather do this than be standing in line for toilet paper at Costco.

Wow, Space Shuttle looks deluxe! Mars God of War looks to provide many days' alternative to t.p. lines at the store. My Flash is doing the same thing - I was going to start soldering on circuit boards this week, but discovered the back box had come unglued (as have many of us...). So, wood repair first.

    #183 4 years ago

Working on my extended playfield swap of EarthShaker. I'm having a problem with the posts / wood screws. I've broken one, still have to figure out how to get it out. As I worked on the next one, I drilled the hole a little bigger, but it's still very tight and I'm afraid to keep breaking them. I'm thinking about using some screw wax (similar to soap, but shouldn't stain the wood). Anyone have any other thoughts, experience?

Finally finished extensive touch-up on a really rough Snow Derby playfield. Almost done with replacing inserts now. Hoping to begin clearcoating soon.

Framing, electrical, drywall & paint completed. Door, trim and carpet pending. I thought this was a good quarantine project but I wouldn't do it again. It has caused me to many extra trips to Lowes.

One of my favorite games of that era! Just looking at that play field I can hear the heartbeat sound in my head.

Not a game but something I'm making for the game room.

Woohoo, gotta love quarantine....spent 3 hours today tracking down intermittant light flickering problems on my Target Pool and replacing the last of 17 light sockets. Its now running perfectly!

as mentioned earlier in the thread, next up is a Miss-O

No restorations for me. Instead I have lots of shop jobs. Since quarantine has started I've finished DE Jurassic Park and Tales From the Crypt. Next up is DE Star Wars!
