I found a post a while back where someone put red covers over the KISS lamps and green ones over the FILM lamps. I tried it and really like it as it adds a lot of color to the game.

One unexpected bene from the FILM lamps being green is that when I and L are lit, they reflect up under the playfield window, and it looks like two green eyes peering from the murky depths.

I had hooked up the bumpers to the GI but didn't like the way it turned out. After thinking about it, I almost gave it up after realizing that the colors Trudeau chose there reflect the taillights of a car since that is the trunk area.

But I went ahead and modded them. I was looking for black caps, and Steve Young suggested clear ones and black Krylon spray for plastic. Painted the caps top and bottom and lined the underside with poster board that had a foiled finish, so it would act like a mirror. I tried superbrights from cointaker, but they weren't bright enough and were too long for placement in the bumpers. I ordered green, orange and purple from PinballLife after reading about them here.
The green were decidedly brighter that the other two colors. So I used the green and put the orange under the lightning bolts.

The black skirts and caps look good and the green LEDs reflect off the mirror under the cap and out the translucent sides of the bumper body. The effect is a soft misty kind of green light that lights up the area enough to really enhance the appearance.
