Nice, Congrats such a fun pin!

I don't even want to think about how much overall money I have in them I just know I want to continue to collect them.

    #8 12 years ago

Roughly 4k, but man hours is something over 100 in it on the current set of machines.

Figure an average of 10 hours driving per machine. Some more, some less and that is just the driving. It does not include being at the seller house which is usually an hour to an hour and a half.

Each machine takes 20 hours to shop. I have not done batman or rbion yet, but I have more than 30 hours in trouble shooting and repair on JP, Tommy, and BF.

    #9 12 years ago

    Demolition Man - $1100
    Terminator 2 - $1400
    Terminator 3 - $1900
    Dirty Harry - $1300

    Total: $5700
    Average cost: $1425

Hundreds more into each. LEDs and mods (mostly T2 for mods).

Wow, I need to slow down. This was all in four months.

Well over $20 Gs in total for pins, shipping, mods and maintenance. I wonder if my wife has added up the costs. I need to sell some.

    #11 12 years ago

    DW - $1400
    IJ - $2500
    CFTBL - $2300
    BK2K - $1100
    Comet - $500

But probably another $1000 to $1500 in parts and stuff.

    #12 12 years ago

I've got a bad ass collection but most of my money went into my pinball shop

    #15 12 years ago

I have spent $6,810 to purchase the pins currenly in my collection. There are no work hours or parts included in that cost. An example of one expensive part is the CPR gold payfield for Xenon. I did not include that, bulbs or ramps ect... in that cost. Just the initial purchase price.

Edit: How could I forget WOZ?!?! Add $6500 and WOZ to my list. That puts me at $13,310 plus shipping on Woz that I do not know about the cost of yet. Should be around $1100 unless I get it from Illinois next year and shipping to there will cost less.

Post edited by absocountry2 : Forgot to add WOZ!

Zero dollars and zero cents. But hopefully that will change tomorrow.

    #24 12 years ago

I try not to keep track of things that depress me. Like counting calories, who the heck does that?

Having said that, my machines were each way under 1K so to round up, let's say $3K. See, now you have made me depressed. Thanks.

PS - Does this include fancy soldering irons, digital thingies, and fancy waxes and polishes?

    OH yeah,

    So , Yeah, Uh, I invested about 5K per pin...yeah, that's the ticket.... tumblr_lkdtp9HNG31qja3h5o1_500.jpgtumblr_lkdtp9HNG31qja3h5o1_500.jpg

    #33 12 years ago

Put it this way I could have paid cash for an Audi since I started this hobby just 15 months ago. Ughhhh.

    #34 12 years ago

I have upgraded, modded or replaced parts for more $ than many have paid for pins. I'm gonna go cry now.

Yeah I thought about that. Most of my games were/are beat up, routed pieces of shit, so the purchase price doesn't really reflect the time and money I have into them bringing them up to par. I have yet to find that killer deal that others in here seem to find. Case in point: the DW I got for $445. Even at that price it wasn't worth saving from an economic standpoint, because I have more into it now than I could sell it for. Glad I got it though... that game kicks ass! GC'ed it tonight with 917M. Getting sooooooo close to a billion!

    #36 12 years ago

It's best, sometimes, to not add certain things up. This would be one of those times.

    #37 12 years ago

You do have a terrific collection. All I know is that if MM ever leaves your house it's coming to mine. I hope I'm still first in line.

My collection is ~$50K. Painful to write, but my wife just helped me tally it up. Yes, we're still talking to each other.

    #39 12 years ago

    Around 20k since three years.....crazy...

    #40 12 years ago

Wow I feel so cheap after reading everyone else's. Excluding gas and shopping materials.

Batman Forever - 850 (display wouldn't boot but fixed it, sound card was bad 83 bucks to replace)
Jurassic Park - 750 (topper was 110, blew up two dmds on it and haven't fixd it)
Tommy - 1200 (local, no gas)
Ripley's Believe it or not - 1000 (sold fh for 600 profit, bought cp for 2100, traded cp for rbion plus 600, after gas and materials I have 1k in ripleys)

Going to leave for Nascar in a bit and it will be the most I have in any of my machines at 1500.

    #41 12 years ago

Yeesh, you got me thinking of the nice car that I could be driving right now if I didn't have all these pins. Oh well, I think I'm having more fun with the pins than I ever had with any car I've ever owned. The authorities always seem to frown on the fun I like to have with cars, but so far, I'm flying under the radar with the pins.

    #42 12 years ago

SS - 350 (with extra playfield)
    BW - 750

I'm not going to tell you how much I have put into Space Shuttle, but it probably isn't leaving anytime soon.

Wow, you get some pretty amazing deals! I would probably pay at least $300 more for any of those.

    #45 12 years ago

I was thinking that too. $1200 for a Tommy is an AWESOME deal.

    #46 12 years ago

These are what I paid, not what I put into them:

    MB $4200
    MM $6400
    AFM $2800
    BSM $5000
    TOTAN $2700
    Shadow $1400

What I have put into them is an entirely different story.

    #47 12 years ago

$ 18,000+ some of them are sold, the nice thing is I never lost any money
always sold for profit - can't account for the countless hours though or the mods, no clue on all that money.

I guess looking at its not as bad as I thought - current market is showing my collection worth a lot more then I paid for it - and some people collect cars etc - this would be one crappy car. but instead its a bunch of awesome pins.

    #48 12 years ago

    Street Fighter II $450
    Bride of Pinbot $1200

Trying to save up for another, but things just keep coming up.

    #49 12 years ago

When I look at my pinball life order history, I see a very decent pin in how much I have spent just for parts, but I have some great working and looking machines.

    I like that.
