Quoted from o-din:

Used to be me anyway.

Quoted from schudel5:

'62 Honduras Maroon!

Quoted from o-din:

Looks like you bought my car.

Bought my first car when I was 19. A used '62 Corvette that had been repainted burnt orange metallic. Quickly learned that, as a teenager, one year's insurance cost 2/3 of what I had paid for the car. Drove it all summer then sold it for enough of a profit to cover the insurance. Then I bought a 4-speed '69 SS396/375HP L78 Chevelle in Daytona yellow with black vinyl roof and interior. Insurance on a Chevelle cost a lot less than for the Corvette. The Chevelle was stolen in 1975 and was never recovered. I used the insurance money as down payment to factory order a 1976 Limited Edition black & gold T-top Firebird Trans Am.

A friend had been swapping a 390HP 427 into a sunfire yellow '64 Corvette coupe but ran out of money to finish the project. I bought it from him and ordered all new springs and radiator for a '66 big block (a buddy and I installed the new transverse leaf spring in his dirt floor garage). So I had a Trans Am and the '64 Corvette when I met my wife in 1979 and married her in 1980. I sold the 'vette to start off marriage with some money in the bank. My wife agreed that I could buy another mid-year coupe to replace it once we were more secure financially, but mid-year prices soared and I was never able to afford another.

We were married 42 years when my wife died from cancer in September 2022. I miss her even more than that sunfire yellow coupe.

Thoughts about air filters? I bought into the K&N hype for my daily Traverse, my 05 C6 came with one. General consensus is the performance boost is negligible at best, and the risk of larger particulates not being filtered, or the oil from the filter passing through is possibly disastrous. Any thoughts before I dump K&N in both cars and got back to AC Delco, or some other recommendation? Otherwise I need to buy the cleaning kit, which I'm long overdue for in both cars.

I had the K&N before. Was a pain to clean and oil. Went back to the best Fram filters for simplicity.

I have a 2020 C8 Z51 Corvette that I need to get pics of. I'm on the lookout for a C2.

If anyone is trading/selling... please let me know.

What kind of C2?

Well, I would love to have a 1967 stingray, but I would be happy with any c2 model...perhaps even early c3

Cruising through the forum pages and figured it's time to post a pic of the kids.
Also considering letting the 2007 Z06 go if anyone is interested. I'm the original owner. Has 3K miles. Obviously not driven much. All original factory equipment.
