Hi guys!

I have a Corvette pinball machine for about a year now. When I first got it, it had some issues that I've been able to fix but the machine still has a couple of issues I'd like to resolve.

The first problem is that when you flip the flippers continuously for a few seconds, the fuses for the flippers on the fliptronics board blow. Sometimes only 1, sometimes 2 and sometimes all 3. Also, when 1 fuse has blown and you flip the remaining working flippers, the other fuses will eventually blow as well. I already replaced the flipper coils with new ones, but the problem persists.

The other problem is that after playing for some time, the fuse for the racetrack and engine occasionally blows. The problem used to be worse, since I replaced the coils in the engine it's happened a lot less, but I still would like to have it fixed completely.

Where to start troubleshooting these problems?

The voltage at the coils was correct, so I decided to take a look at the fliptronics board. I noticed that one of the transistors had clearly been replaced in the past since it looked different from the others (see attached photo).
Because I have no experience with soldering on PCBs, I searched for a replacement board. I found one and after replacing it today, the issue with the flippers is solved!

One more question I have is about the slow blow fuses. On the new board I got are fuses that are a bit different from the ones I normally use. The ones I have, have a really thin metal wire running through it, but the ones on the new board have a thicker wire with another metal wire around it (see pictures). Is there a difference between them?
