Corvette...the gate at the bottom of the lt5 engine is supposed to close when you enter rev mode right before multiball, so the ball stays up there.

Mine does nothing in solenoid test. It's all under the ramp which is gonna be a pain to get to. I have to do it but was wondering if anybody has already shopped one out and can let me know what's going on under there. Anybody have pics of a shop out there?

Check my blog's Corvette tag for pics: http://pinballnovice.blogspot.ca/search/label/Corvette
I also review the process I did for tearing down the playfield.

Good luck, it wasn't much fun and I ended up with a few new problems after reassmbly...

Thanks I checked this out...still a little unclear about something- I don't have to take the engine apart to remove LT5 ramp, do I? That's what I want to avoid.

You have to take the engine apart to get the ramp out. The plastic cover and metal sides at least have to come off. You can leave under playfield part of the motor assembly in, but everything above the ramp must come off. The ramp is one piece from the metal flap at the start of the LT5 ramp all the way to the ball exit 180 loop around at the rear of the engine, and the plastic in the middle of the engine. You might be able to lift the front of the LT5 ramp up, if you unscrew it from the playfield and the front of the engine, but only to a certain point.

Does a good job showing the three screw holes that would attach the ramp to the Lt5 solenoid unit. But there are a bunch of things to disconnect to get that ramp out, and will probably require removing some of the wireforms and race ramp to get proper access, ala http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iK7Fj08yiwE/VZMmOehJ5GI/AAAAAAAAS7s/ePcHVDesoqc/s1600/bIMG_20150623_215852.jpg

Yeah, I had the playfield stripped in that fashion

except without the rear ramp removed. I think by doing this I should be able to take the sides of the engine off without too much trouble, without removing the rest o the engine, to get to the lower rev gate assembly.

It is TOAST, the solenoid is fried. So I've got to put a new one in there, and probably replace the transistors as well.
