Volunteering at the Museum of Pinball in Banning , CA yesterday a friend and I worked on Corvette all day . We replaced the known broken parts, which included the plunger for the VUK, and a rebuild on the upper left flipper. Replacing rubbers and GI lamps took awhile, as it means removing the wireforms and ramps .We replaced Q50 which fixed a locked-on coil for the right Pop bumper. We found that the ramp diverter would not move freely in either direction. The plunger was stuck in the coil- the coil had swelled. Replaced the coil with the correct size.

Now this is where the day got interesting. We tested all the lamps and switches and solenoids and then tested the LT-5 and the race track- everything checked out fine. So let's play a game. We noticed that the cars did not move on the racetrack during a race challenge and the LT-5 did not move or allow you to Rev the engine. The other anomaly was the diverter seemed to work backwards from normal gameplay. If I remember correctly - the first couple time up the right ramp brought the ball back to the right flipper, and then the next ramp shot diverted to the kicker that sends the ball to the left flipper.

So back to testing and had mixed results - about as many failures as with successful tests. We removed the racetrack from the game and checked everything out and cleaned the optos. Put back in the game and still no cars moving on the race track during gameplay.Someone suggested doing a factory reset. This time the game performed as expected- upon power up -the LT-5 did a self diagnostic, followed by the two race cars doing a self test. Now we are back to normal -the game played as expected and the diverter was working correctly. I had never made the adjustment Factory Reset in the menu before, but it seemed to work for this particular game.Maybe this or reseating the connections on the motor controller board- but in the end it worked and I will take a win any day.

Any thoughts about what corrected the 3 anomalies?
