Hi all,
Looking to possibly pick up a Corvette. It looks like the race track doesn't function as well as the LT5. I am not afraid of digging into issues, but wanted to check in here to see what I may be in for as I have never dug into one of these before. Are the parts associated with those two tough to come by? Any other gotchas I should be aware of? Thanks
Maybe I should put this in a beginners area or something but since I have a Corvette I'd figure I'd put it here.
I have never been a pinball person until about a year and a half ago. Really I had no intention of becoming one but I fell into a pinball machine by accident. I got a Corvette machine as a package deal when I bought a house, got a pool table and air hockey to go with it.
Everything worked for the first 6 months and then the left flipper quit. Anyway, I fumbled my way to fixing the left flipper with some really crappy soldering but now I just figured out these things have double AA batteries that like to leak. How did I figure out? Well mine leaked of course! I pulled the board holding the battery holder out. It looks like only corrosion on the actual holder itself. I went to planetary pinball retail to order another holder.
I'm not incredibly adept at soldering and just want to make sure I don't mess it up. Any suggestions, youtube videos or places to learn? I know there are ways to get rid of batteries but I don't think I'm at that place yet. I'm planning to just use lithium AA for now.
My wife thinks I'm developing another manic hobby.

Its easy to find just about everything you need for this game. I saw someplace while back thar sold the entire race track parts. You should be fine.

Thanks! I am probably getting the one listed in the marketplace in SC now. Excited to get this one!
HEEELP! I bought a Corvette a couple of weeks ago, as a restoration project. The machine hadn't been running for about 15 years.
Unfortunately i just found out that the back gate engine assembly is missing!! And it seems to be unavailable everywhere i looked.
Is there ANY chance at all that one of you have that part, and would be willing to sell it?
Or if any of you would know of a similar part that could be modified to work?
The only picture i have is from a shop that lists it as out of stock. So if any of you would happen to have detailed pictures, or be able to make som measurements, that could help as well.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Anyone have a source or spare racetrack boards? On my encoder board, the ground trace is gone in a section. It may be repairable, but that trace is pretty small and I may not be able to fix it. It looks like the boards are sold out on the sites I checked. Thanks

mate is jumpering the trace an option i know that pinball spare parts aust have several types of boards

They don’t have the smaller board at the end of track, just the larger one John. I had a lot of problems with the small board and Logan had multiple attempts to repair. That board is unattainable so repair is your only option

Run a wire. It will not be seen anyway, so doesn't matter if the board no longer looks new.
Quoted from allsportdvd:Never seen a shifter but pinball Center has the speaker panel
Sold out im afraid itll come up

The only shifters I know of on Corvette were the ones made for the Corvette museum in Bowling Green KY. According to Gomez. I hope to get down there this summer.

I was there last weekend. The only game there is a export model with no shifter and running stock software from what I can see. They have it behind the "fence" so it's not playable.
I also took this on the way out
LT-5 engine issue. I would love if someone could sanity check me here. I have the error on start up for the engine.
When I started, the test menu would move the motor to the left and then fail. I found the cable from the MPU to the master board was flipped. I changed it to make sure pin 1 to pin 1 matched. Now the test menu the car doesn't move at all. Under position it simply says "Off". I should have some sort of numbers here right?
The optos both register if moving the motor by hand.
In the adjustment menu, the position centering pot does cause the motor to move. All the way clockwise and counter clockwise each cause the motor to move as designed and I can get it to a nice centered position.
Since then I have removed master, slave, hall, and adjustment boards. Each was looked at for obvious cold solder issues, bad caps, etc. The boards all look pretty great actually. I still went ahead and reflowed solder on them just in case there was a bad connection I missed.
Also of note, F111 is tested good with a multimeter as I read that circuit controls the motor.
Hall sensor bad or maybe something on the master or slave board? I ordered LM324's for the slave board to have as an additional test point.
maybe the init failure turned the engine off in the settings? There is a setting in the options to turn off a malfunctioning engine so you can keep playing.

I will check that. Would that kill the position in test mode though?

I think this is the first time I have seen a pinball machine roped off for display like a museum piece. It looks rediculous.

Factory reset the machine and the motor passed test! Restarted the machine and the correct init kicked in and the motor rumbled. Thanks a ton!

First, disassembly!
Everything looks great, nice playfield but I already found one of the corvette owners woes. A-19007 skid pad ramp. Can't find it anywhere.
When my titans arrive I'll put the current cracked ramp back in for the time being.

Starship Fantasy has the skid pad and the large ramp on deck, for production in the near future. Skid pad has been a tough find for quite a while now.
New owner here. I’m sure I’ll be asking a lot of questions. Does anyone have any of the original rule cards They would be willing to part with or scan? I know there are lots of custom ones available but I’m looking for the original one. Also, can someone take a picture of the fuse list. My game is missing that and I want to double check all of my fuses and make sure they are right. And, does anybody have a service manual that they want to sell?. Thanks! Mìke

Type in corvette and they pop right up.
Hello, This is my first post and i just got two flippers. So i havent learnt the vocabulary around parts and so on.
Anyway... If you look at the picture i am holding a part that should be in place where im holding it approx. Unfortunate its not fully right in place and it has got placed a bit wrong so the ball gets stuck a lot. I have taken out the part and tried to bend it a bit to fit better and stay in place. I felt immiadiately that i would not be able to this right =).... So where could i find this part? Or to whom could i send the one i have and perhaps " you" have corvette and can bend it as it should be by copying yours?
Thanks for you help in advance.. At least i can play the game now but the ball wont stay in the motor =)

i think your wire and the metal nose are mounted in the wrong position.
Here is a picture how it should look.
In normal position the nose is up to let the ball fall down and then left into the Lock.
If the lock ist activated via the left orbit the metal nose will point downwards as long as the engine block ist moving when a ball is in the engine.
The second picture i had the whole engine assembly on the table.
Greetings from Germany

Joining the Corvette club with a very nice machine that I've got:
Corvette neatly tucked in the corner of our bedroom
Had to drive 650km to get it, but it was a nice adventure. Barely fit inside our Passat
Is it possible to fit a pinball inside B6 Passat? Yes. Is it recommended? Hell no!
The backbox is very clean, even has the original fuse list attached to the door. Other than replaced capacitors on the power board, all looks to be original.
Very clean backbox. The capacitors look changed
The cabinet has pretty much no fading, but standard damage around the legs is present. Legs came with some very rusty levelers. Also one of the leg brackets is stripped (only one screw holding the leg), but that's also fixable.
X-Mas tree came in a very weird arrangement:
These domes on the x-mas tree are clearly wrong
So, I just swapped the domes with yellow lights on the back until I order proper ones:
Swapped domes with the x-mas tree
Looks correct now
The LT-5 ramp came with a standard crack and a broken off flasher socket. Will order a new one at some point
Standard ramp crack and broken off flasher socket
Also missing a couple of screws on the posts. Anyone knows what kind of screws those are? They're probably not metric, right?
Other than that, the playfield is absolutely immaculate
Finally one last question about the right outlane post. Does it need to have a rubber? It seems that there's no rubber indicated in the manual, but I've seen pictures with and without a post rubber, so what's the proper way here?
Do I need a rubber on this post?
The pin plays very nice and is a lot louder than my Fish Tales, could it be because it's in much better shape, or is just the overall construction?
Quoted from The_Pump_House:Do you have the common crack in your skid pad ramp?
No crack on the skid ramp. At least none that I’ve noticed. I will be ordering a playfield protector soon, and I’ll have to disassemble some of the playfield to put it on, so we’ll see if I’ll find any hidden surprises.

It would be under the ramp where you can’t see it. Even if it’s not cracked I would order one of the repops getting ready to come out.
Quoted from allsportdvd:Where do you order a new skid ramp? I have not seen these available
lrosent345 said he was getting ready to put out new skid pad ramps a couple weeks ago. I messaged him and asked to be put on the list
An anyone here point me in the right direction for a nice translite? I’m concerned the repro ones on eBay are poor quality and CPR don’t make them
Or if anyone has a nice used original I’d like to hear from you
I have been fixing up my second Corvette this year. I have been getting my tail kicked by the dreaded "LT-5 Engine Error". I was getting nothing for a while. I have swapped master boards, new ribbon cables, replaced caps, IC's (all of them from slave/master/hall boards), .100 connectors, reflowed solder, etc. At some point it started going to the left and only left. The hall potentiometer only allowed it to "unlock" from the left pull. Basically it would pull hard left, then let go, but do nothing to the right. It would not center. Coils tested all the same as well. Wiring was all matching the manual schematics.
I looked at the schematic again for the slave board and decided to check all the transistors once more, having done so previously. The small 2n3904 (q1 and q2) transistors I noticed a short on one. I figured I would swap them and see if my engine decided to slam right vs slamming left. Installed the slave and it the engine decided to work! The centering pot did exactly what it was supposed to do. The game passed test and then initialized properly after a power cycle. I believe it was likely some extra solder on the top side of the board underneath the transistor that was causing a short. Perhaps it was somewhat intermittent as those transistors tested ok once before.
I am very glad to have sorted this out. It was weeks of testing, ordering parts and then waiting, only to not have it work. On another note, this game is now all done up with clear titan rings and comet sunlight bulbs now and looks really great. Now to put it all back together (mostly ramps and corresponding switches plus the LT-5).
Quoted from MiamiRedSkin:If anyone has a used or new right ramp for sale, please let me know
I have a used one I think but I'm in Australia. Will be expensive to ship but if you get desperate let me know
Hey all
I’m having a problem with my diverter in that it doesn’t move during gameplay
The diverter fires in test mode but nothing happens in Diverter hold test
Anyone have any ideas?

I don't have a corvette anymore, but does that coil use dual windings like a flipper? If so that is where I would look if it pops but doesn't hold.
