I have a Aladdins castle that I'm getting ready to start shopping out, the former owner had replaced the rubbers on it and they seem to thick, the left side slingshot rubber is so thick it will not allow the ball to go thru to the flipper without getting stuck. I replaced it with an old rubber that was visibly thinner and the ball went thru as designed. The name is to faint to see who made it. Who is making rubber bands in the correct thickness?
    thanks Chris

Just order a ring kit from pinball resource.

I had an Alladins castle and shopped it with a pbresource kit.

Interesting topic. Many EMs esp later model, would have been designed for the now defunct and unobtanium ABC rubber.

What you get now will definitely not be the perfect spec as it was originally. The best you can do is adapt and use the manual spec sizes as a guide for what you feel plays to your liking. It can make an amazing difference, so it's definitely worth experimenting to what you the owner prefer!

To answer more inline with the question, my thought pattern is between a slightly smaller size thicker rubber (the greater stretch reduces the width), or sometimes just changing brands to something more thin, but it may not have the same action etc.

It is a little bit of a wonder because some times when I get 5/16 I’ll get the thin weenies on the right or some times the thick beefy ones on the left

    Super/Strato Flite!.. nice!

yeah.. I have a big messy pile of 5/16 and 3/8.. so both of those are for sure 5/16?

I’m pretty sure they’re the same. I’ll double check when I pull the glass off next time.

Ok trying my best to show the difference but both are the same size 5/16 but one is thick one is thin. I get this all the time.
