Some years ago I tried my hand at stained glass. (don’t ask the outcome). The other day I was working on a MPU 100 that was pretty badly corroded along the bottom. I thought about using some copper tape used for stained glass. The stuff sticks pretty good. When I used it on glass I just cut the overlap and let the small pieces fall on the concrete floor. The pieces stuck so well to the floor that I had to scrape it off. The down side is the smallest I can find is 5/32 inch – too big for most traces but should work for larger ground traces.

    Anyone ever use this stuff?

I have used copper foil tape, but not that brand.

The good stuff has conductive adhesive, but I double down with a soldered connection too.

I also use the 1/4" wide stuff for playfields

I've used copper tape to repair the lower ground trace along the bottom of those MPU boards just like your board needs. Looks much better than running wires.

You want to get real pc board copper foil tape from GC Electronics.

GC # 22-507 Copper Circuit Tape, 1/16" wide

GC # 22-509 Copper Circuit Tape, 1/8" wide

I couldn't find my old copper tape when I worked on that MPU so I used just wire and solder. Yes the tape would have looked much better.

I've also built some drop targets with reed switches and I think copper tape would have worked well there.

I think this would be something I need in my parts drawer.

I checked GC Electronics and they only list the 1/8" tape now. The 1/16" would be handy too.
