8 Ball arcade...... Too bad it was a front for a drug dealing operation. Gee how bold could they have been about it.
Odyssey Land was about a mile bike ride from home.
Spaceport was at the Mall which was another 1/2 mile further.
Family Billards (yes, it was misspelled) in Westminster Colorado.
No family ever went there but you could pick up almost any drug you wanted. Playboy was the new, hot game to play - at least until Flash came out.
Verns Sports Bar.....in honor of my friend, Steve, "Vern".
When your high school friend buys a bar, and packs it with arcade and pinball....
I actually don't remember if the arcade in my local mall even had a name other than Arcade back when I went there as a teen, but it may be somewhat unique in the fact that it survived all the way up until last year (although in a different location, closer to the movie theater) under the name Video Zone.
Not terribly "cool," I know.
Used to wake up early and drive to Winnipeg on Sunday mornings to get 3 hours for $5.
Went there for street fighter and mortal kombat. They also had LAN setups for doom.
Always hated the damn loud knockers the pinball machines had. Scared the shit outta me. Now I can’t get enough of em, and add knockers to all my modern sterns.
Space Port and Time Tunnel and Time Warp. where the best names in my area. Then we also had Family Fun Center.
"Golden Cue"
Pool tables, pinball machines, major drug deals and some hard people. It was owned by a mid-level Mafia hood. I was 16 years old and always hanging out so he hired me to manage the place. I learned more about the real world from those years than anything I learned in college.
Quoted from arcademojo:Then we also had Family Fun Center.
That might have been the name of the local mall arcade, were they a chain?
In the 80's and early 90's Downers Grove had 'Just Games'. It wasn't a 'mega' arcade, but it had all the staple games. I spent so much time there, I got to know the manager. When he was bored, he would coin up Chexx bubble hockey and we would play. Great memories of simpler times!

Had a few arcades in Tulsa in the 80's (mostly in malls), but the one name I can recall was Funway Freeway. However, the arcade I frequented most was in Woodland Hills Mall next to the movie theatre.
Aladdin's Castle, Willowbrook Mall Houston TX, also next to a theater.
Games People Play, scaled down version of Malibu Grand Prix. I spent more time / money in the arcade than go carts or bumper boats.
I grew up in Davis California, our local arcade was called
"The Library"
Perfect name for an arcade, - " bye mom, I'm going to the library" !!
Can't find any pics, gotta be some out there.
B
Started as Magic Markies(part ‘head’ shop) then became Brett’s Pinball Palace. Woodstock, N.Y. 70’s-80’s.

Games people play is such a great song, good name for an arcade! Bring on the Mel Torme!
I believe our local chains here were called
Pot Of Gold
Lucky Strike/Gold Strike
Still trying to find pictures!
Quoted from hlaj78:Mickey Rats - Ann Arbor, Michigan
Then that guy opened Study Break in the student union.
Great Escape was another good one.
are there still Pinball Pete's at MSU and U of M?
how about Galaxy Fun Center in Roseville?
Club 500 in Detroit? (also hands down the best Detroit style pizza in the world, anywhere, ever, this is not up for debate)
Quoted from SonOfaDiddly:are there still Pinball Pete's at MSU and U of M?
1 of each yes
Quoted from TheLaw:1 of each yes
used to be 2 at MSU. the IJTPA was always out at the one on Grand, absorbing the sun through the big ass window
