Most games with upper and lower flippers have a double leaf switch in the cabinet. If you press the flipperbutton in only half way, the lower flippers activate only. So if you held the flipper button halfway, you would, only activate lower flipper to hold. Then press in all the way to activate upper flipper, but only release to half way to continue to cradle the ball on lower flipper.
