These are from a 2013 game and definitely had time to fully cure. This is different than a lot of the newer "pooling" issues seen on Stern games, but is still an issue with the clear being used IMO. In the case of my game it seems as though the art was not fully adhered to the substrate and ball compression created voids under the art that eventually flaked off when the clear cracked.

Truly bummed to see the issues on JP as the game is fantastic and I was hoping to add one to the lineup.

Quoted from bobukcat:

It's kinda hard to figure out how this could eventually get addressed in a way that would assure potential buyers that they've fixed whatever is causing these problems without admitting it's a real problem and they should be replacing them for free. Perhaps Stern will be the one to actually step up and do so but I'd guess it would still be done very quietly so that only the squeakiest of wheels would have theirs replaced with a populated PF.

I know numerous people that have received fully populated playfields from Stern. While Stern may not be publicly discussing it I do think they are doing their best to take care of their customers once the issue arises. I just hope there is ongoing testing to determine how to make a more durable playfield.

What if....!(total speculation on my part)!......

1......the clear and ink are affecting one another, Ink isn't fully cured or incompatible with the clear and retards it from curing.
2......once cured the clear is too brittle and creates cavities under it as it recovers from compression, causing the clear and ink to separate from the substrate.

I feel like we keep looking at the clear as the culprit, but it may not be that simple. I keep going back to the fact the ink is coming up with the clear under post, the ink has obviously melded with clear, almost melted into into it.

Are new JPs, with altered playfields, displaying issues?

Quoted from hawkmoon77:

I've had a few QC related issues with my JPLE, but the overwhelming majority of people have said that theirs are okay. Also, Stern has contacted me and indicated that they will address the issues I have. The level of support I've gotten through Stern has given me a high degree of confidence.

Thanks. I am looking at a premium, but not until QC is sorted

Quoted from PW79:

I get a weird vibe about thinner clear & deleted art.
Feels like a temporary & similar but better solution to the washers implemented to understandably keep the line moving.
Dang... My AS has a thick glossy PF that compliments the artwork magnificently. It's a gorgeous F'n game. I'd hate to lose that attribute on all future titles

Sorry, what is AS?

Buddy got a new JP...2 bad coil stops and an insert sunk in about 1/16", which effects gameplay. Hopefully Stern takes care of his PF for him.[quoted image]

Wow, that is f’ing awful.
