Quoted from PanzerFreak:

Not surprised by Sterns response (no widespread issues). I remember when I called them about cabinet issues and was told "theres no problem, sometimes a cabinet doesn't get enough glue"...

If it doesn't exceed a certain percentage it IS not a problem.

Quoted from Mike_J:

Except for the poor bastards that are stuck with one.

That is not what I meant.

There is a failure rate when you're building things.
You allready take this into account when pricing things.

So of course if it's defective it has to be replaced or somehow taken care of.
That Money should've been put aside.

About 2% is normal, about 5% failure rate is usually maximum.

Quoted from bobukcat:

buthamburg does a really nice job but on a much smaller scale of course.

He let's them dry for months

Quoted from PtownPin:

Most just hope that the new play field makes up for the loss they'll take on selling game.

Wich is a fair request.

Quoted from PtownPin:

Lets face it what percentage of people are keeping these games forever? Probably not that high so although their upset their game wasn't perfect what they really care about is resale value. By having an extra play field theres a chance they could recoup some costs....

I meant it like I said it. I fully agree.

And for the people who want to keep it it's ok as well.

Quoted from metallik:

No. Costs may be less, but the new method allows for much better color and resolution on the playfields than can be done with screens. Look at AIQ or Turtles artwork (AIQ below) - you simply couldn't have the smooth gradients, sharp resolution and wide variety of colors like this with 90s and earlier screen printing technology. All screened playfields feature solid colors, with occasional dithering with rather visible dots.
[quoted image]

The Resolution/ sharpness thing is incorrect since you have to dither everything you make, while a solid color allways has a sharpe edge.
That's also why the dots in Screen print are more obvious, because they're sharp and not bleeding out.

I at he Moment only have a BKSoR and a Police Force. The BKSoR looks obviously nicer (if you don't look too close), but the Police force is clearly sharper.

Quoted from vid1900:

All of us guys who have been servicing pinball machines for 40 plus years know that those metal mini posts are always loose on games.
Every time you go out to a new clients place of business it is guaranteed those posts will be loose.

Since this is not (only) about beeing loose but about the clearance, they have even more room to move around at an even worse angle the washer can have carving into the playfield... with that again having much thicker print & clear on it then an old game so that will... "furl" like a wrapping film.

Either way, that post should have so much clearance.
That is prone to failure.

Quoted from vid1900:

I've got the first few pages already
[quoted image]

If the bottom is only held by that 30 little pegs, without any woodglue or screws, the corpse will fall out and the wood'll be ruined.

Better get a plastic protector!
