Quoted from zaphX:

I might get hit by a truck years from now. Today, I'm having a great time playing a great game!

We can still play it on route but individually we don't have to be paying to buy inferior quality games to what we have known in the past to be an acceptable standard.

Quoted from mnpinball:

Remember when Bat66 came out, there was a big Stern expo party, pizza party and was supposed to be a monkey appearance but ended up dying ? Joe Kaminkow was giving out Batman hats, Gomez got a new car. Don’t think for a minute that your money was foolishly wasted it was used to cover the Ghostbusters populated playfield program.
Now here we are on the verge and the cusp of the brand new fully featured fully loaded super LE of Elvira.
It’s like déjà vu all over again.
The customer will pay for it one way or another, just like any other warranty program it’s built into the price of the game.

The only problem is that there will be a whole lot less people that are into Elvira as a theme than there was for Batman 66. Elvira is a niche/cult classic whereas Batman 66 the show is true wide audience classic.

I have no doubt more pinball people will be interested in Elvira than Black Knight SOR but how many more is the question. They are both essentially similar loosely licensed pinball themes.

Quoted from flynnibus:

You could say the same thing about Munsters... and TPF ran a similar (alas smaller) paid event too..

I was not referring to the promotional event but rather the different themes regarding their popularity in relation to how that affects game demand.
Munsters' demand was obviously killed by code and gameplay.

Quoted from C_Presley:

Called my distributor yesterday when he wanted final payment for jp2 LE. I asked him his position and what he’s heard. Stern is STILL saying 7 or 8 documented cases.....

It is fascinating that nobody has been able to verify who makes the playfields for Stern yet their playfield clearcoat issues seem nearly identical to recent JJPs made by Mirco.

Quoted from Faustria:

The original comment was Stern loses money when people cancel pre orders, that's wrong. Stern loses when distributors don't buy, but distros will buy, it's a question of if distros continue to buy after the first batch. Those aren't pre orders.

A lot of people lose the deduction because of the cap on state and local taxes. The cap causes people to not get past the standard deduction even when factoring in interest deductions.

Quoted from tpir:

Stern has had three chances to make JP2 right and it looks like they failed thrice: Washers didn't work, removing art from under the posts didn't work, thinner clear didn't work... vinyl playfield decals up next?

Perhaps they need to go back to screen printing since this digital application of art does not appear to be working for pinball?

Could the issue with the paint not adhering to the wood be because of the lack of a primer paint?
As someone said above, the paint is likely adhering to the inserts ok but not the wood.

Quoted from DeeGor:

It would be interesting to see what these hardtops look like after 20k plays on them. The good thing is you could do a top side tear down, swap in a new one and your machine looks like new again.

I would like to hear what some high level tournament players say about how hardtops play when they are new as well as after they have a couple thousand plays on them.
