So if your game loses in the consolation bracket, are you supposed to sell it?

Tight battles here...maybe the most entertaining bracket of the 3....

Alien is definitely one of the most awesome looking and coolest designed pins I have ever seen. Super dark and erie and unique! Only played one once. But face it, how many people will ever see one or get to own one? It's a shame!

Agreed, and absolutely IS that good.... Could have easily been a top 5, if not best pin release in memory...oh well..

I was 17 or 18 when alien hit. HR Giger art work always creeped me out. Dawn of the dead creeped me out to.

Night of the Living Dead blew away Dawn of the Dead. Saw both when they came out in theatres. First zombie movie that scared the shit out of me.

Alien remains one of the best Sci-Fi horror movies out there...nothing like it at the time, and still gets plenty of airplay on premium channels.

Well you must be some kind of purest collector. I'm not. I like Alien and pinball both so... I also like the display in the middle of the playfield. I though that was cool as hell! Alien was my generations Frankenstein monster.

No better combination of theme on a pinball machine for me... you're not alone..

It's a cool feature...after you glue it back in and mylar over it

Um, no..."tragedy" you don't like the gamebut playfield display fine has been fine for over 1k plays and counting.

Biggest flaw in the game was the company that made it, not the machine itself. Beyond that, it holds it's own w anything out there...easily.

Night of the living dead gave me nightmares! It really messed with my mind for a while! LOL!!
But I agree. Aliens was the best ever IMO. Still like the movies. But I like Science fiction anyway. Not much for horror except for Alien movies. It would be the ultimate theme for pinball for me!

I was young ( for Night of the Living Dead) and would go to the movies on occasional weekend nights w my cousin who drove. My Mom always said she could gauge how scary the movie was by how fast she would hear the car pull up and me slamming the door entering the house. I'll always remember her stating "that must have been the scariest movie you've ever seen, you must have flown from the car to the door". She was right.

Dawn of the Dead didn't hold a candle to it.

Even though I was older, Alien had a very similar effect on me. There had never been a sci-fi horror that I'd seen which compared. Watched it again last night, actually...fun to hear audio clips from the game in there.

Absolutely the ultimate, goat, grail, whatever game for me. The machine had some bugs, but no company to even provide a schematic, much less support. Took a devoted group of owners/ smart pinheads to sort the shortcomings. Mine has been rock solid for quite some time.

And still, compared to all of the modern "super pins" with the shit that is passed off as normal QC wise (along w the price tags), Alien more than holds it's own.

(staff lounge time, hence my rant).......

Funny thing about that movie is upon release the audience was shocked and horrified it was so evil. When it was rereleased around 1980, we went to see it in the theaters again and most people were laughing.
I didn't even know what I was in for when mom's boyfriend took me to see it when I was 10. Had no idea what it was going to be about. I watched most horror movies before that, but that one was just wicked.
Just the premise and the way it was made and the acting, it stands out as one of the all timers.

Dammit, I'm older than you...saw that one w a friend in HS...we were determined to be the " tough" guys and watch it..he bolted the first time " she" started contorting in the bed...only time I've ever been left in a theatre...weird, the stuff that leaves lasting memory...( fortunately, we both drove, so I wasn't stranded)...

The desensitizing of America didn't take long!
Richard Burton starred in the second film Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977) and he regretted it big time. He said it was the worst movie he was ever in. LOL!

Yep...watching TWD on TV? Would have been rated X back then

And you guys wonder why I didn't find Alien that shocking. First time I saw it, it was comedy.

No way...that thing scared the shit out of me...chestburster scene was classic!!!
