I recently picked up a Congo. I decedeid to take it apart, put on new decals, and clean the playfield. It’s all put back together but both flippers don’t work. The fuses look okay, but without having to take everyone out and test it, can anyone clue me in to which fuse it Is? Or any other connection I should check?
Thanks,

Yes, in test mode the flippers register. I figure it’s likely a solenoid fuse. Without a diagram, which fuses are for the flippers on Congo? Just by glancing they all look okay.
If the fuses are okay, any other thoughts?

Okay, I checked all the connections, they look good. I changed the fuses 115-118, with the correct slow blow 4amp 5x20, and still no flippers. To summarize, the flipper switch registers in test mode, the flipper coils aren’t working. Of note is that the mystery scoop and upper left post coils also don’t work.
I loooked over the power driver board carefully, and found a transistor that was out a little?
Could this be it?
Thanks guys!

Quoted from buffaloatx:

While that looks pretty sloppy, it is not the flipper driver transistor.
Those are Q90-power, Q92-Hold lower right Q87-power Q89-hold lower left Q81 power Q83 hold upper left flipper.
Flipper power comes from J119 Pins 1,4,6,8
Red Grey, Red Blue, Red Green, Red Violet
The hold path and drive transistors come from J120 pins 1,3,4,6,7,9,11,12.
Flipper fuses are 115-118. Check all of them with a meter, if they test good make sure you have voltgage at all coils.

Thanks for those locations! I’ll try those later tonight!

It’s been awhile, someone remind me how to test the power at the individual pins with my DMM (what setting is best, where to place each lead)?

Quoted from jawjaw:

Are other coils working?

All other coils are working except for the upper left post and mystery hole eject.
Wonder if those are associated with the flipper coils?

Quoted from zacaj:

First confirm on a working coil:
Red lead on pin or one lug of coil (usually the lug with thicker/2 wires)
Black lead on ground (braid lining the cabinet, or often the side rails)
DMM on DC Voltage settings (auto or 200)

I’ll test the coil power tonight. Thx!

Wow, thanks for all that guys! I won’t get home till late tonight. I know how to test the transistor and coils, but not the pins on J119. What setting, and where do the 2 leads contact on my Digital Multimeter?
