I'm in! Just picked her up Saturday.
When should I expect my members only jacket to arrive?

#578 9 years ago

Have a few games under the belt just learning what to do. What is the ZINJ all about?

#582 9 years ago
Quoted from beelzeboob:

Zinj is the lost city (the ruins on the PF and translite are Zinj). Lighting ZINJ lights the Mystery hole.

So I have to drain one down the right side to light the J?

#587 9 years ago

Ah, ok. I'll have to pay attention to that.

(I'm new to this whole pinball thing.)

#590 9 years ago

I installed three out of the four cliffy's. Not sure where this last one goes?
cliffy.jpgcliffy.jpg

#595 9 years ago

Thanks.

#600 9 years ago

All cliffy's installed. Thanks for the help.

#605 9 years ago

I got midnight madness and super multi ball in the same game last night. First time for both.

#609 9 years ago

I had 125 or so diamonds that game. Kinda blew it on ball 3 and only scored 1.6b
I think I heard a call out for super jp, but not sure how I got it.? My Nyquil was kicking in. It's all a haze.

#611 9 years ago

What is the best way to apply those vinyl blade skins? Can you just lift up the entire playfield and stick them on or do you have to remove a bunch of stuff?

#613 9 years ago

Did you take the backbox bolt out or apply it over top of it?

the others looks good too

What is the best way to install the vinyl side blades? Do you just lift up the playfield? I figure it would be easiest to remove the playfield, but I'm not sure how to get it off.

Installed some side art today...

Quoted from swampfire:

The side decals look great, but are there Palm trees in the Congo?

Probably about as many palm trees as there are talking apes.

Quoted from beelzeboob:

Mine's worth 5k with all the stuff I have in it. Once you get a shaker motor in there and a bunch of other goodies (along with great condition), you are talking between 4-5.
You know how I know mine is worth 5k? It's not going anywhere for less than that.

Any details on the shaker motor?

#722 8 years ago

I see the STNG shaker is sold out. Is that the only one compatible?

1 month later
#890 8 years ago

Beat my GC score twice this week!

congo.jpgcongo.jpg

#895 8 years ago

I was thinking that this game would be great with an external sub. Does anyone have one installed? Looking for some guidance on what/where to purchase and how to install.

(still trying to track down a STTNG shaker)

#897 8 years ago

I have one of the Bose woofers laying around unused. Do you think that would work decently or get something with a bit more punch?
bose.jpgbose.jpg

#902 8 years ago

I just ordered the Polk sub. Should be here tomorrow.

#911 8 years ago

Hooked up the sub. That thing booms with the pop bumpers.

#923 8 years ago

The volcano jackpot shot during multiball should be worth 2x the left ramp. No........10x!

#926 8 years ago

Anyone one know where a STTNG shaker motor can be had? Pinbits has been out of stock for a while.

#991 8 years ago

I'll check to see which plastics I have as well.

#1010 8 years ago
Quoted from Wickerman2:

Anybody have extra plastics they want to sell? Revised pic...

CONGOPLASTICS3.jpg

Here are the plastics I have...

Shaker came in today!!

#1017 8 years ago
Quoted from Chosen_S:

Which shaker did you buy?

STTNG

Played me some Congo last night. I get some incredibly wonky ball roll from that lower playfield cover. Sometimes it'll completely change direction and drain SDTM. Can be frustrating as hell. Does that drive anyone else batty?

#1035 8 years ago

Hmm. I thought it was pretty flush. It rolls over the edges perfectly smooth. It will just come across that plastic and throw knuckle balls at me.

#1037 8 years ago

The window. Mine appears to be in great shape. Sometimes if the ball rolls over it slowly, it'll change direction. Maybe I shouldn't wax it?

#1039 8 years ago

Just got my new high score. Only 2.3bills.
( I don't think I've ever hit the volcano shot for a jackpot. )

#1041 8 years ago

I choked and blanked on the skill fire that game.

#1042 8 years ago

Who has the best price on replacement windows for the lower playfield?

1 week later
#1046 8 years ago

Just replaced the window with a new one. The old one was slightly warped. It's crazy how much better it plays now. I've been cranking out volcano shots like crazy. Not a cheap part but it was worth it. Congo is fun again!

#1049 8 years ago

Epic Congo game. Just destroyed my high score. Super multiball twice and think I got everything reward. Plus 248 diamonds .
So glad I put that new window in!

I've been tossing around the idea of selling my Congo. I've gotten too good at it ever since I put the new bottom gorilla plexi cover on. Couple reasons holding me back: I'm afraid that I would miss it and it's rock solid and in absolute perfect condition.

#1215 7 years ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

looking at your colleciton I would sell ANY other game before Congo.

Yeah. Gofers isn't going anywhere. I'd sell TOM first, but my cousin put up a GC score that I am determined to beat.

#1220 7 years ago

I think he should just take your word and not watch that movie again.

#1258 7 years ago

Is there a pic of what that $40 mod actually consists of?

3 months later
#1373 7 years ago

Did I miss the clues?

#1381 7 years ago

Is there a vid that shows the difference between LED/LCD?

#1383 7 years ago

I have my color dmd's set to the smooth setting instead of dots. Can't remember what it is called. So, I guess I should just stick to the usual if that is my preference?

2 weeks later
#1400 7 years ago

Anyone install the color dmd yet?

3 weeks later
#1429 7 years ago

Turned all my pins on this weekend and poor Congo was looking out of place being the only one with an orange dmd. Color will be arriving later this week.

#1431 7 years ago

The whole lineup now in color.

Volcano shaker motor.

#1618 6 years ago

Shaker, Color DMD, Subwoofer. Maybe some side blades. That's about all I added.

1 month later
#1652 6 years ago

What's a flame bulb?

#1655 6 years ago

Neat. Thanks!

Which style and how many would be used for the volcano? It's been so long since I needed to lift my playfield, I can't remember what's under there.

2 weeks later
#1670 6 years ago

Was just about to beat my gc score. Had extra ball lit on left loop. Ball comes out of the pops to the left flipper. I decide to just let it bounce off and over to the right so I can grab the extra ball and instead of bouncing it just dead drops and drains. Game over. Aaagggghhhh.

Quoted from Squeakman:

I've had my Congo for over 5 years now. Its one of the nicest i've ever seen. I love it dearly, but it doesn't get played much anymore. I think what keeps Congo from being one of the best pins of the 90's is the lack of modes and a story or ending so to speak to shoot for. Now its all about just trying to beat the diamonds collected or the high score which on my game is over 5 billion. I keep telling myself its time to move on from it, yet i just can't. I'm curious if anyone else has felt this way? Just when I think i'm ready to let it go, I play it and just can't bring my self to part with it.
