TheNecromancer The volcano is VERY easy to remove. You do need to take off all wireforms, which involves taking off some plastics. But it's just a few screws (and disconnected some molex connectors undearth for the switches and spotlight on the volcano. If your VUK is struggling to hit the balls out, unless it's because you have a dinged up chute that is slowing the balls down, remove your ball lock and VUK from underneath. Just a few screws and disconnect the 2 molex connectors and take a look!
I have the jump ramp protector because when I bought my game that plastic (and a few others were wrecked. And the weldment top came off the volcano chute. Once I replaced my chute, no ball has been doinked by plastics. I put some metal washers on post corners for safety and haven’t had any issues since.
I have black rubbers because I just like that it blends in. A lot of people go all orange or green which also pop. Can’t beat any of those 3 choices!
