Quoted from usul27:Zigzagzag Where did you get the Pin2DMD color files?
It's not a "proper" colouring, just a .pal file that sets the palette : https://vpuniverse.com/forums/files/file/4371-color-palettes-collection/
So all screens are yellow and green ... but it's ok for me
Wouldn't recommend PBC ordinarily, but these were OK : https://www.pinball.center/en/shop/pinball-parts/playfield-parts/plastics/3956/lane-plastics-for-congo?c=0
Quoted from Jeffswack:Just joined the club with a wonderful congo.
Two questions
1- I seem to be unable to get volume below 8? Is there a limiter that I need to turn off
2-the sounds/music that come on during attract mode is annoying. Can turn it off?
[quoted image]
Yes, all this is possible.
You can find the manual here : https://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=3780
It describes how to adjust the settings you are after and much more
Quoted from Chosen_S:Hippo’s!
About time to totally shop my machine again;
A couple questions...
1.The small center jump ramp, is pbc in Germany the only place to get a new one?
2.Clear coating the playfield... does it make Congo too fast?
3. Lower Playfield window... who has the best one?
4. Titan rubber... what’s the best color on Congo?
I have clearcoated mine and find it plays just right
I ordered the right hand ramp from free-play.se, maybe they have what you need ?

I used a Congo .pal file giving 4 colours which I think looked quite nice.
You can find the collection of .pal files here for example : https://vpuniverse.com/files/file/4371-color-palettes-collection/
They don't give a complete colorization, but adjust the palette to better suit a game.
2021-10-10 13.41.49 (resized).jpgQuoted from ripit:I saw that an tried to follow up on it. I came up with the same info (discontinued). I am surprised there is nothing out there. Maybe there is not enough units to make a sound track. Thanks for your help. I haven't tried the aux voice over are there any thoughts on it?
This page says their shaker is compatible with Congo : http://www.pinshakers.com/
Quoted from TheNecromancer:I've never played or even seen a Congo but curious if the lower playfield is covered with glass or is that a plastic? Seems really hazy on some games. Not sure if that's lighting or deteriorated plastic.
It's plastic. You can buy new replacements from several places.
Quoted from TheNecromancer:What's out there in the way of alternate translights? I see one was posted earlier in the thread and I messaged him. Are there any others available? Post a pic and a source for it please.
https://www.retrorefurbs.com/?s=congo&post_type=product
I've ordered the "Jungle alternative" one, waiting for it to arrive.
Quoted from TheNecromancer:Where do you guys have the bubble level set on your playfield? I'm curious if I should have a steeper angle. I've noticed on occasion my kickback seems to fire before the ball seats (I think anyways) and results in the ball not leaving the outlane and then draining and I lose the ball. Thinking I need more angle on the PF so ball moves faster? Not sure.
I have mine set at 6.5 degrees
Quoted from ParkRangerPinball:Is this a dumb question? How are we bypassing this coin door switch to work on the game while powered up?
Tryinto test voltage on a flipper coil.[quoted image][quoted image]
On some machines, you can pull the switch tab outwards to engage it.
I sometimes use a piece of gaffa tape to keep it activated if I don't have the "service switch actuator" handy.
Quoted from rvermeire:Considering to buy a Congo but has 6 damaged inserts?
Can't find them anywhere and might create them but does anyone know the exact font used like in extra ball, shoot again....
Thx
I usually find a picture of the insert, crop it so there's only letters left and run it through WhatTheFont (https://www.myfonts.com/pages/whatthefont) or similar services.
