How was conformal coating applied from the factory? Was the board 100% populated and then it was sprayed/ dipped etc so it coated everything?

On a repaired board (alkaline damage), should conformal coating be brushed on prior to repopulating or after? If its before, do you have to make sure to not get any on anything that will be soldered? i.e. pads?

If its brushed/ coated over everything, does it burn off if you have to desolder anything down the road?

I plan to use Humiseal 1B73 coating.

    thanks!
