Just curious if anyone has ever used Concrobium (mold killer) on a playfield. I have a wood rail Gottlieb pinball that I recently purchased and it has some white mold specs in the cabinet and a few on the painted playfield. I used bleach on a Q-tip years ago on either a United gun game or a United bowler to kill mold on the cardboard part of the coils and at the time I was good with that. To my knowledge, it never returned, if it was the bowler. The other game is long gone. Anyway, I have been reading articles on mold removal and bleach apparently only kills the surface mold. Concrobium came up in my searches and it seemed to kill the mold 100%. I called 3M and asked if Concrobium was safe on painted surfaces and they said that it was and that it didn't contain any alcohol or bleach. So I was just wondering if it would be a good or bad idea to use this on a playfield. You are suppose to spray on a light mist, let dry, and then wipe with a damp cloth and Concrobium. I'm worried about raising the grain on the playfield or destroying the paint. I would probably use a Q-tip on an area under a bumper to see if it was harmful to paint.
The cabinet would be easy to do as far as killing the mold. Removing and cleaning every piece from the cabinet would be a chore. I read a few post on here about mold removal but the playfield of the real moldy machine was bleached, naptha, and then Novus 2. Has anyone ever use any specific mold control on the playfield?
Thanks,
Larry.
