Did you reach out to Ed at GPE. Maybe you would be the perfect guy to buy him out. Win for everyone. I look forward to buying stuff in the near future.

    Quoted from Tallon:

A source for the 40pin connector on the Williams 3-7 would be nice. I k ow they are hard to source

That's a good idea. I'll look into it.

Not sure if I've got the capital to buy out GPE, but it's a fun idea!

correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't those just (4) 10-pin or (5) 8-pin connectors soldered in place? I don't recall ever seeing a true 40-pin long molex connector on either side of the two mating boards.

Correct. You wouldn't want a single 4o-pin connector in there anyway. Too much stress on the board. You'd have 39 cold solder joints sooner or later.
Add on manufacturing costs and the price goes up quickly.

I totally get why they choose 4 10pin instead.

Makes it easier to repair too, now that I think of it.

Just placed another order, thanks for having the 0.156 connectors!

Hope that you get the 0.100 connectors sometime. But the 0.156 will keep be busy for weeks. LOL.

Last week we received a shipment of some of the striped 18 AWG wire we'd been waiting on. It's available now in the store

When one buys wire from you guys, does it come on a spool? if so, what is the length needed to get it with a spool?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,

Normally I'll put anything over 50 ft on a spool, but if you have a smaller amount you'd like on a spool feel free to just leave that request in the order. No problem

Quick shout-out to John at Wire-Bot. I've ordered wires a few times now and have been pleased every time. John is the real deal. Buy with confidence. Even his boxes are cool

This is an awesome idea/site. It drives me nuts seeing random wire hacked into games. I placed a small order today but will order more when I need OEM correct wire and don't have it in my scrap pile.

Ordered a bunch of various wires to continue revitalizing my Motordome. If there was ever a kit that included ~5 feet of all possible colors and stripe patterns for both 18 and 22 gauge wires, I'd purchase it. You never know what you may need until you need it

Thanks for carrying the 0.093 pins and connectors

Haha, a kit like that is certainly possible! Maybe we'll have to schedule some time to cut down some lengths of all the colors and make some short-length "everything" kits. Kind of a fun idea

I’m just cheap, haha, but I do like the 10 feet idea, too.

I just did the math for 10 feet for all color combinations and no solid colors the 22awg would be $198.
There would be 5% discount before any other savings for being a kit.
That's way more than i thought it would be.
    Same for 18awg is $225

Funny, I was gonna say 2.5 feet. With boards on the playfield I'm finding most of my wiring is only 6-24"

Different perspective haha, I'm elbow deep in an old Bally restoration and the wire harness is filthy and I'm afraid if i clean it i break something, so having a spool of each color would be nice.
If I win the lottery I'm just gonna order 100' of each color lol.

    Thanks!

    #184 7 months ago

I'd be interested in some 14/16ga black, white, green next time I order. Mostly white since I use that for my coil voltage bus, idk if there's any standard on that

    Hi @rockwell-

Thanks for stocking all these wire color combinations, it has been immensely helpful! One suggestion to help out color blind fellas like me... Could you label the loose wire in your shipments similar to what you are doing on wire that comes in reels? I've had a heck of a time trying to figure out some of the color combinations.

    Thanks!

Hey Mike, thanks for the suggestion. Certainly, I will look into an efficient way (for me) to do this. Appreciate the feedback.

    Hi Rockwell
I was reading your post about Mr&Mrs Pacman displays
I’m experiencing the same problem with Wolf pac displays. Do you leave pin 7 off J1 if the daisy chain wires are removed from the unused pins? How do you know which wires are unused.
    Thanks

So I have to say...........John is AWESOME!!!

I tend to do some things without thinking. I had a great idea to have every wire color on hand for any future repairs. I don't rewire playfields, but sometimes need some wire here and there. My bright idea was "Hey, let's see if John can send me a 10' section of every wire color he has".

Well first off, he has like 200 wire options. I did not realize this. Secondly, he is meticulous about packaging. I did not realize this either. But in spite of those things about a week later I get my package with 10' lengths of 200 wire colors in fantastically packaged bundles.

I SHOULD be ready for anything now. Plus I got the cool sticker too!

Yeah, I had the Wolffpacs as well. I can't recall now which wires it was causing the issue (I sold the game last year), but removing those daisy-chained wires from the connectors that didn't need them fixed the issue. I will look through that post and see if I can recall. I probably have some images as well I can reference.

I did order some spools of the 16 gauge in just black, white, and green for now. They should arrive late this week or early next week, at which point I'll add them to the store. If all looks good with those, I plan to order the other solid colors subsequently.

Are you going to get 14 gauge too?

    #198 6 months ago

John is the best at this, good prices & ships same day. I went with individual spools, much easier to use.

    Quoted from Skatewake:

The manufacturer I purchase from doesn't keep stranded 14AWG ready off-the-shelf (only solid), which just means I have to order it in higher volume and the wait time is longer. So for now, I'll hold off. I haven't had a lot of people asking for the 14AWG to this point.

    [quoted image]

Looking good, appreciate that! To be clear, I aim to get orders out as fast as I can. But it's not always same day. I say 1-2 business days to fulfill most orders, sometimes a bit longer if there are harnesses I need to make

    #200 6 months ago

Quick note for anyone checking in here this week: Wire-Bot will be closed from March 19 through April 1 while we pack up and move our shop.

We'll be open this week and will make sure any orders placed before the 19th get shipped out as normal. Just a heads up we'll be down for a couple of weeks after that.

    Thanks!
