Here is an ancient, pointless memory just brought to the surface by your question:
When I was ten years old I went to a schoolmate's birthday party---and after lunch each partygoer received a new comic book, but they were rolled and wrapped in tissue-paper and tied on the ends---no one knew which comic they were going to get.
The birthday boy announces that ONE of the comics is a SILVER SURFER, and whoever gets it will have to trade with him, because, after all, HE is the birthday boy and SS is the one he wants...
We all agree. (there are at least 10 of us at the long table)
As it turned out, I was the poor slob who got the Silver Surfer... and, as per the agreement, I had to trade it---for a lousy Daffy Duck comic book!
Now, years later and tons wiser, I think I'd have still let him have the book, BUT I'da looked around at the other choices---and made the birthday boy trade with someone else first, so I could get the next best one, eh?
I wonder if he still has that comic, and what it might be worth.
