I'm working on a Comet and am right now trying to decide how to deal with a decidedly funky power supply. Here's and overall picture of it:
I don't have any experience troubleshooting power boards (all of my games until this one have been kind to me in this regard) but have been able to identify some obvious issues.
1) Super hacked connections for GI power in wires.
2) Burnt connector for GI out
3) Extra jumper wire?
My current thinking is to just yank this thing out and buy a new one. Marco stocks this one: http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/D-8345
I'm not sure if it comes with instructions or not. If not, do I need to install a jumper on the four-pin J9 and if so, from which pin to which pin?
Then there's the matter of my fried connector. I've never replaced one of these. What are they called? Is this a 9-pin IDC connector? Marco stocks these two connectors that look similar:

I can't tell if wither of these are the correct part or even if they are functionally different in some way.
What would you do in my position? Any help is appreciated.
