I can't find a easy spot light hook up other then the alligator clip installe from pinball life. I'm not bashing them at all but I hate to spend $25 per side. I looked at comet and was hoping for something in there matrix line and have found nothing. So my question is could I buy a matrix quick connect and an extension then cut the one end off and attach it to a spot light socket? That way I have a sold removable spot light or will it mess something up?
    Thanks

I think you need to clarify your question and what you are trying to accomplish.

Yes you can...It will serve as a power tap.

There is a socket and bracket in the matrix line.
a Shroud did not arrive, but other than appearance, its not needed with most LEDs.

Another Trick is a 4 SMD Post Light. It can be attached to Matrix, and hidden behind signs and objects, as its quite flat.

Micro Spots, and others were in works, you can send Ryan a PM on any updates on Matrix Spotlights.

Yeah I found the matrix one. I don't know how I kept over looking it. A friend sent me the link. Thanks though!

I've been experimenting with spotlights a little the last two days, and have found something I like.

    1) Use a matrix wedge socket bracket: http://www.cometpinball.com/product-p/mtxsocket.htm
    2) Attach some wire: http://www.cometpinball.com/MATRIX-Wires-p/mtxconnect.htm
    3) Run the wire through the playfield hole for the slingshot switch and attach it to the lugs of a GI bulb using gator clips: http://www.cometpinball.com/product-p/wirepack.htm
    4) Use a wedge 1Watt Magnum for the bulb: http://www.cometpinball.com/product-p/1watt.htm

This should run you around $4-5 per spotlight.

These magnums are focused such that you won't see the light directly with your eyes as the player, even without using a cone. You can attach the socket bracket to anywhere you have access to a screw or a locknut. I haven't tried using a hex post to place the spotlight higher into the air, but even from a low height, the magnums cast a pretty powerful amount of light. Will add some pics in my next post.

You could also avoid using alligator clips and the extra matrix wire if you used one of our quick connect bulbs in one of the GI bulb sockets in the slingshot. It'd be "cleaner", but the downside is that the options for bulb style/color are limited.
