Williams, 1985Father in laws Williams comet started having an issue where the drop target fails to reset. The coil fires repeatedly, but will not fully pull back the plunger. There does not appear to be anything obstructing it at all. Seems to be solid contacts with power and ground of coil lugs. Any ideas? Coil loosing strength?
Could be, but I would think it could be a mushroomed coil stop or plunger. That dummy gets a lot of abuse so that coil fires a lot to reset him. I would check them and clean them of metal shavings and change out the coil sleeve at the same time if need be replace them.
