When I turn it on everything lights up; I hear 1 click,the display shows 2540 in player 1 and 04 in the credit , also the flippers work but game won't go into any mode.

Replace the batteries and check the battery holder for corrosion, maybe install a remote battery holder.

Just took care of this on mine yesterday, hopefully yours is as easy to fix...here is what I did...put in fresh batteries, turn game on, open coin door, turn game off then back on quickly....game then booted properly

Agreed 9 times out of 10, dead batteries.

Hopefully the batteries are dead and they didn't leak.

Thanks folks , I used the now infamous cosmokramer method (the patent is still pending) she is fine now, barring that darn clown call out . I see myself choking a clown if I choose to keep her . HAHAHAHAH
