Sure looks great but $480-$500 isn't chump change either by the time shipping costs added in.

Do it. It will be great in color once it is done. You can sell your old orange plasma display, which will offset some of the cost. Where are you located?
If you go to TPF in March, I think they may offer free shipping to the show.
