Quoted from Aurich:Actually no. After PONG people would have been blown away by seeing a ColorDMD. A high resolution display that can apply a mask to upscaled pixels in real time, and it's no wider than a kid's paperback book? Holy shit! Where did get this incredible Alien technology!?
I'm so stoke to get more of my games in color. Dots + colors = perfect match. Dots are great, I love pixel art. Color brings all the details to life. Win!
Couldn't agree more. If I could only have one mod on a game it would be a Color DMD.
Quoted from Aurich:I haven't seen one yet I didn't like! But Metallica has really detailed dots, and I know this one is good hands.
Going in my game the instant it's available.
Ditto.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:Great update! Thanks for being open with us. I'll be buying a Color DMD for TZ the day its available for order.
Buy one now and have it White. Looks great. Then you just wait for the color ROM
Quoted from NPO:If you want a ColorDMD for Metallica, I'd say about now is the time to order. This just popped up on their page....

Thanks for that. Ordered.
Quoted from Chitownpinball:Really? Popeye? Come onnnnn
What's wrong with Popeye. Its a cool game. I would get one if I had the room.
Quoted from holmstarrunner:This will be my first color DMD purchase. I hope I don't enjoy like it too much as I have a Metallica and TOM next to it and not the funds currently. Then again, Christmas is just around the corner right?
Once you get your first one you will want to put one in all your pins.
Quoted from Fresh_Wax:I thought I had read somewhere that the new DMD's are coming with the adapter plate for the stern metal back box. Can someone tell me if that's factual, or do i still need to get a adapter for Star Trek Pro?
Don't get the pinbits adapter kit, Its a pain in the butt to install and even though I was really careful, I cracked the display. I later found out that Color DMD have some spacers that make it easy. Wish I had known.
Quoted from PinballManiac40:Sorry to hear that. Did you email Pinbits to let them know?
No, I emailed Randy at Color DMD. I will buy a replacement screen.
Quoted from crwjumper:Please clarify: does "ST" stand for Starship Troopers or Star Trek?
Thank you.
That was answered on page 1 of this thread. Stern's Star Trek.
Everything you need will be in the box. Just install it and download the ROM from their website. You only need extra hardware for the new metal speaker panels used from Star Trek onward or if you have a red DMD shield. The older Sterns used a red film you just take off.
Quoted from Arcade:Pretty sure my speaker panel is metal.
I will need to look into this further.
Sorry, I have a METLE. Did not know they were different. If its a metal panel, you will need the mounting standoffs as well.
Quoted from PinballManiac40:Randy posted this on FB.
ColorDMD Pinball Displays
Got a message from Santa...
Wanted to know if the next title was going to be naughty or nice?
We weren't sure how to answer.
