Quoted from Frax:Hopefully the STTNG rom will get updated to allow screen positioning soon as well.
Is it a problem on STTNG? My friend has one in his and I never noticed any issues.
Quoted from underlord:But if we already bought colordmd's for these titles can the colored version be added to these?
Yes, you can download the colorDMD roms from their website and install via thumb drive.
Quoted from Whysnow:yeah. had it for a while
Still needs some love but next on the short list (after the kitchen remodel is done)
How would one go about mounting a colorDMD in a showcase game?
Quoted from Jvspin:Thanks. I just took a look at AC/DC on youtube and it looks like the ripped video portion is in monochrome with other hand drawn effects in color.
The only video clip that is monochrome is the shot of the crowd on song mode shots. The other three video rips are in color and they were a giant PIA to color. I could do Spider-Man or Tron, but I would lose my sanity doing those video clips.
Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:I dunno. Reading a blog by an otherwise sane pinheaf gradually going insane over color coding project could be rivoting. I'd watch.
Maybe if I start a Patreon fund............
Quoted from Aurich:If I owned Spider-Man I'd be stoked to have a colorDMD that just did this:
- Colored all 'normal' dots as usual
- For all scenes with movie clips:
* colored all the text so that it was easy to read
* set a colored shading for each scene, just like Stern dots are all shades of red, but pick good colors to match each scene
So for instance, the Stern logo, scores, etc would be in full color. The a scene with the Lizard could maybe be in shades of green.
No nightmare coloring jobs, but it would be enough to give it colors and flavor so it would match up with other colorized games.
And I guess if people wanted to enhance some of the movie clips over time it could get better.
I would be willing to tackle that, if those were the terms
Quoted from Baiter:That huge sea of smeary constant shifting dots is exactly why IM and SM would benefit more than handcrafted animations. Like Popeye, It'll likely take a true fan of those games to get it done.
I would agree with that. The kick is finding somebody crazy enough to tackle it. I know on the few ACDC frames I had to do, it was taking about an hour per frame on the video sequences to get it to look right. A game that has a ton of video sequences would take an eternity. I am not opposed to trying Tron at some point on my own time since I own it, but it is down my list quite a bit.
Quoted from Captain_Kirk:So, no other Stern game besides Star Trek has done this? I'm honestly asking.
To my knowledge it has been the only one encountered so far with this specific problem. Could be wrong though.
Quoted from In_Violation:I might be one of the few but not a big fan. If I am going to drop $400 on a small screen I want to be HD.
The screen is HD, just not the source
ya if you get the key invalid thing, just shoot Randy an email with your display serial#, he should be able to get you set pretty quickly. That happened a time or two to me when I was working on Dredd.
Quoted from Shaneus:Ah man, with the advent of colouring the film-animated games, it reduces my hope of seeing RBION anytime soon
There are a lot of people working on a lot of different games. There is always a possibility of any game being released at any time. I just depends on when they get done.
