Sorry if this has been covered, but wouldn't Sega's large 192 x 64 DMD be a prime opportunity?

Considering the price of replacements, if a color DMD could be done at even a remotely reasonable price, I imagine it would sell well.

Quoted from TheLaw:

Sadly that's not true

What do you mean sadly? Any colored title is a good thing! Doesn't matter if it's one you're after or not. It's not as if these lesser known games are pushing the more desired farther away - lots of projects are going on at once.

This is true. Funny I only have 1, and I just sold my NGG as soon as it came out.

Quoted from KBRI1700:

This is not a very popular title; so the chances of it being done are a long shot.

popeye made the cut before a lot more popular titles.

edit: i guess thats already been said sorry

Hoping for jurassic park colorization.

Also goldeneye and xfiles, but jurassic park is probably a better bet ☺

Keep mentioning Popeye. It is my pinball claim to fame. I gave hope to the masses and even made three people happy

If you really want to mess with people, you should jump on Austin Powers next.

Funny enough, that game is crazy colorful, so it may be a good candidate.

Would put you in a record holding 2 (mostly known to be terrible) games colorized

I actually enjoy popeye quite a bit. There is a lot going on and I can see where playing it on location would be frustrating and no one would ever figure it out. My buddy owns one so playing it for free and learning the rules from him, its a lot better game than what it gets credit for. never played austin powers tho.

I own and Austin Powers also so I think my collection is being picked on. Austin Powers is known as "The Poor Man's Monster Bash". Classic fan layout, shoot each path 4 times.

If Austin Powers is so bad think about this - The Time machine magnet was re-used for LOTR, The Lazer Beam re-used and the Crossbow in Walking Dead, Dr. Evil comes out of the playfield like Iron Monger, there is a toilet bowl in the middle of the playfield and the mini spinner is a riot. All in one psychedelic package - Yea Baby

Haha...it really is just a horribly terrible game.

I know, but I have to talk it up in case I want to sell it

I hear yeah. AP had so many great things in it...like a modern day Edsel!

#1214 8 years ago

Austin Powers is in my running for ugliest pinball of all time. Definitely the worst Stern package. Sorry, just the truth!

But I'm sure it would better in color!

#1215 8 years ago

I used to own AP and the art was the only thing going for it. The quotes are funny until you've heard them all about 3 times. The games play is extremely repetitive. Even the wizard mode is just more of the same.

No way - 24 is the worst. Full on Gottlieb-Premiere territory.

#1218 8 years ago

I'd go AP as worst Stern for PF art. It's horrendous. 24 isn't THAT bad.

#1219 8 years ago

Pretty much time for this thread to expire.

#1220 8 years ago

I didn't even know there was a running for worst PF art; I thought Astin Powers was just excepted. Did they like hand rub each playfield with sanding block before it left the factory?

EDIT: Sorry...forgot aboot Barb Wire...those 2 fo sho.

If my mother in law didn't own one I'd have one. Would def get ColorDMD for it. So one day it will be FOUR people who are happy.

Quoted from Dmod:

Several customers reported intermittent issues with power-up, where the display will either remain blank, or show a doubled image. The issue was tracked to a bug in the way the FPGA powers up and exits reset. Only ROMs created between May and October were affected.
We've updated ROMs for the following games to correct the issue, and they are now available for download from our SUPPORT page. If you're not experiencing the described issues, there's no need to update your existing ROM.
AC/DC
Doctor Who
Fish Tales
Getaway: High Speed II
Indiana Jones
Metallica
Monopoly
Popeye Saves the Earth
Shadow
South Park
World Poker Tour
X-Men

Thanks for posting this. I had no issues until I powered up my FT tonight. I downloaded the update and loaded it up and it seems to have fixed the doubled image.

#1226 8 years ago

Good grief. Need to add SMVE to the list of games that need a ColorDMD.

Sorry to ask if it's been covered but I've really missed the colourdmd party, so I'm arriving a little late. Can Whitestar games be fully colourised now? If so who do I need to speak to about taking on Goldeneye? That's if it's not already being worked on!?
