I think the Stern's specifically the older SAM wooden speaker panel games need a different mounting bracket. They can be mounted using the existing bracket but the screw holes don't line up and some adaptations need to be made to make it work. I think the Stern mounting bracket is on the ColorDMD website along with the cable kit...

It is really a personal preference thing but if you have LCDs in all your other games my guess is you would like LCD in Congo...
I have LCD in my Congo as (as well as all my other DMD games) I prefer the smoothing feature. I didn't care for the LED version in a Congo I saw at a show it was too bright for me.
