Would someone be so kind as to post a picture of what the LED looks like when the game is turned off?
Am I correct in believing the LED "pixels" are somewhat white and visible?

Quoted from AlexSMendes:No, they're not!
Thanks for the clarification! Would still love to see a close up pic in normal lighting with game powered off.
Thanks bobukcat
Those definitely appear more visible than traditional DMDs, IMHO. I'll put them in the whiteish category.
Not saying it's good or bad, just trying to get a feel for how it looks without having the ability to see them in person. I've seen many of the LCD version and they look awesome.

Quoted from Fytr:They look a lot lighter when light is shining directly on them (and they are off), but actually resemble a real DMD in color, etc. when off without a direct light source (flash, etc.) shining on them.
I really like the colorLED I put in my MET pro, replacing an existing colorLCD that was in there (moved to STTNG).
It's waaaaay brighter, has much higher contrast, it really pops, and absolute dark background pixels when they aren't lit (the backlight glow from the LCD always bugged me in a dark room), and the real LED pixels look authentic vs the original DMD, and what the animations were designed for.

Thanks. Great info. I'm concerned about the ghosting / capacitance thingy. Any comments on that? Is it one of those "once you see item you'll always see it" situations? Or is that overstated?
I finally got to see the LED. Looked fantastic!
I’d probably pick LED. Nice and bright, not too bright. Color separation wasn’t a problem. Just looked great.
Btw, LCD is nice too.
Can you clarify what / why you are seeing that?
I don't own any ColorDMDs (too cheap), but most of my pin buddies have them. A few LED exist and they are my favorite... and I've never seen this. I'm a bit over 6' 3".

Quoted from Codeman00:Interesting. I appreciate your reply. It's definitely and issue that bothers me....Maybe I should have gone LCD in the first place. I tried to capture it the best I could here.
The first 2 photos show from my view...you can see the ghost image at the bottom of the letters/numbers.

The 3rd photo is from a couple of feet lower and you can see the ghosting double image is almost gone.

If you look straight on at the screen, it looks great...it just looks muddy while I'm playing it. Not exactly that sharp crystal clear detail like I thought I was going to get with LED or LCD. Note that we thought that the double image would go away if I moved the glare guard onto the LED screen and off of the clear outer plexi. I'm not sure it made a difference at all.
