Did you try to flash the board back to sigma (monochrome)? It looks like its trying to run a color rom.
That is not a color ROM. The fact that he swapped it with another ColorDMD and it did the same thing means that is the signal being put out by his machine.
But if the ROM did not match the game it would simply display the correct dots in the default color for the ROM since the screen would not match any screen the ROM knows to color.
But the multi-color pattern is very strange. I still want to see what happens with the original DMD in place.
