made a quick movie too this morning when my daughter was playing
Really like it. This is my first colordmd. More will follow...
It's even more beautifull in reality. Only one thing foam should be included to keep it dustfree (for the newer sterns),
because there is distance between speaker panel and display, but I solved it with doorfoam.

Quoted from rai:

Can you explain the door foam?

something like this, because otherwise dust can go on the display.
I'm a bit perfectionist for that and I like my dmd's to be dustfree on the inside too...
Also it's better so the light of the translite doesn't shine on the dmd

Ugh. I noticed a problem in your video. Randy will be posting a new ROM as soon as it's tested.

I'm sure thats just a detail.
Played again tonight, really impressed. You Guys did a great job here!

For the IM vault with new speaker panel. Instead of spacers, would it not be better to just grind off the 2 middle screws from the speakerpanel, so the colordmd can be closer attached to the speakerpanel and standoffs don't have to be used? Anyone tried that? off course you still need to use the pinbits clear shield, but without the standoffs less dust can go in between.

On the other hand, with the standoffs, since the screen is deeper in the speaker panel, the advantage is there's no reflection at all in the playfield glass.
I'm curious what you guys do or prefer?

What the ? The kit won't install without modding?

Not a big deal. It's a great product.
just for the new stern (metal) speaker panels, you have to buy the set with the clear shield and the standoffs.
Since standoffs are used, there is a gap created between clear shield and colordmd (as you can see on the picture of metahugh)
You can put foam in the gap to prevent dust going on your dmd,
or I wonder if people found another way (maybe grinding down screws in the middle) to put it closer.
If you put black foam, it has a more finished look, especially if you look from the sides at the screen.
