    Quoted from yzfguy:

I put the stretch version in my met and gb and they are great. My son said “ya can’t even see it”, and I explained to him that in this case- that’s the idea

Haha! Yes, that IS the point. One of the reasons I like the DMD Stretch ones is that little extra tension makes the lines on the top and bottom taut, so there's no way it's getting into the display area. It's also nice with either version to get the display isolated so side or top light leakage doesn't wash out the display.

Thanks for posting the pic. Looks great!

This is a good time to let anyone on the fence know that DMD Stretch gaskets are running low and when I have to re-order the price will go back up again to what the first run was since no "mistake discount" on reorders. I don't know exactly when I'll be out (and by extension ColorDMD since I sell them to them), but I'm guessing it will be in 60-90 days. So get 'em while they're relatively cheap!

So I only use the LED panels, but I was never fully satisfied with the light-blocking solutions I had tried. I tried several methods: cardboard panel & foam strips. Which both work, but they weren't what I was looking for.

I like the concept of the gaskets to make a nice seal that doesn't let in the light from the backbox. To that end, I tried Vireland's gaskets on several of my machines. Your mileage may vary, but here is what I came up with...

For LOTR and Monopoly, I put 1/2" stand offs to help center and hold the gasket in place. Then just forced it down:

    Standoff's from the front:

Stand off from the side (note that they do not extend past the bracket edge):

    Mounted view from the top:

For Ghostbusters there are a couple of options.

You can get some 3/4" #6 threaded standoffs and then just mount with some short #6 screws:

The threaded stand off solution works very well, but it was a touch further back from the front of the panel than I wanted. So I ended up using a router to shave off about 1/4" or so of gasket material and then using 3/8" standoffs to mount the ColorDMD:

At any rate, just posting some option incase anyone else might be interested in getting some of Vireland's gaskets for non-LCD mounting.

Ha! Great minds think alike! I just did something like this on a Family Guy I converted to a red Stern LED display not long ago. It's not optimal because of the thickness of the gasket not being designed specifically for it, but it does work, and it really seals off the display area better than anything else.

Just a heads-up that the last of the DMD Stretch version of the ColorDMD gasket will be out of stock soon, and the next order will be back to the non-stretch version that costs more, so the price will go up when that happens, likely within the next month.

Could you please respond to my Pm's?
It's been 38 days since I paid for my gaskets and 11 days since you told me you were going to look into it. I've been very supportive of your mods. I'd at least like a response please. Kind of bummed here.

I don't have an answer from the post office so there's nothing to report, but I'm just going to re-ship them.

    #166 4 years ago

Id appreciate that. I'm sorry the post office is dicking you around.

Meh, sometimes packages don't get where they're going. It's a pretty rare thing, so I'm not too broken up about it. I sent another shipment and PMed you tracking.

Just found out about this product and totally ordering one now! The light bleed on my ST Pro has bothered me since the day I put ColorDMD in it. They need to carry your product in their store as an addon!

They do! We sell a lot both ways. People that get one end up doing all their machines.

Awesome! By “addon” I meant offer it to me when I buy ColorDMD for one of the supported pins, I had no idea it existed!

PinMonk came through for me! Good deal on ColorDMD, gasket and cables at Golden State Pinball Festival.

    Thanks for the great upgrade!

It was good meeting you at the swap meet Sat. Ghostbusters looks great! It's way better with color and they did a great job on the dots.

The ColorDMD gaskets are out of stock in the pinmonk store until I get another order made.

ColorDMD.com has the last of my DMD Stretch inventory that should tide anyone looking for one until I restock.
    http://shop.colordmd.com/lcd-foam-gasket-stretch-fit/

Planetary pinball has a few of the ORIGINAL full-size (non stretch) version left:
    http://www.planetarypinball.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PPS-LCD-GASKET
If you want the non-stretch version, this is your last chance. Once Planetary is out, they're gone for good. All the new runs will be DMD Stretch.

More stock is on its way from the factory to me, so I can take orders again on the pinmonk store here or on pinmonk.com.

    ColorDMD is also being restocked.

Yeah, it's crazy how much longer it took than anyone expected. That digitized concert footage must have been a bitch to find for reference. Very glad to see this is here at last. Almost makes me want to get another KISS LE.

Gasket ordered with my color DMD today….also had a buddy print me the the spacer…It will be the back up of the gasket ever fails but probably will never need it. Can’t believe we have color for Kiss finally!!!
