Game 59? No Problemo...

ColorDMD Displays is excited to announce support for Terminator 2 pinball machines! T2 is the 59th supported multicolor release for the ColorDMD pinball display platform and 8th title release in 2017!

ColorDMD developer, Dave Tkacs, returns for this long awaited Terminator 2 release! Dave previously completed Popeye back in 2015 as a tribute to Python and his friend Phoebe, as well as "the glory of being the guy who colored Popeye!"

Upon completion, Dave was eager to take on a more popular title. Work for T2 began back in June 2015. At that time, the dots for T2, one of Williams earliest DMD games, at first appeared deceptively simple. However a number of technical challenges, specific to these early games, prevented Dave from achieving the results he wanted and the project languished for some time. We admit it... tiny problemo.

By incorporating a number of engine improvements made over the past two years, as well as some new features specifically added for T2, we are now able to complete this title, enhance Dave's original work, and share it with the pinball community!

The ColorDMD for T2 pinball machines leverages the company's easy-to-install ColorDMD LCD and LED platforms. Displays ship with the factory installed SIGMA ROM. Multicolor operation is enabled through free download and installation of a game-specific color ROM using a USB drive. The display may be reconfigured for use with any supported title.

Displays are available for immediate shipping. The color ROMs for T2 pinball machines are targeted for release before Friday, June 16! Hasta la vista, baby.

Thank you for your continued support! For additional information, including upcoming game previews, please visit us at www.colordmd.com!

COLORDMD T2 ROM UPDATE

A bug in the original T2 release ROM was identified that could cause flickering to appear during the attract and grip sequences.
To resolve this issue, ColorDMD recommends that customers with new Chroma LCD displays update to the Terminator 2 Chroma 3.1 ROM.

http://www.colordmd.com/support_firmware_chroma.html

There is no need to update LED or older LCD displays as they were not affected by this bug.

Quoted from Spock:

Nice catch, the rom on my thumbdrive is in fact "colordmd.rom" and not Chroma so it is a typo on the site. So in this case 1.3 versions of the colorDMD may be experiencing the rapidly blinking square at the bottom of the DMD and this is in need for an update.

Typo on the REV 1.3 download page is fixed, and PM sent regarding the ROM issue.
