Sweeeeeeeeet! Now to decide whether to go with LCD or wait for LED. I put LED displays in my TAF and SS machines (my MB has an LCD), and I've got to say that I prefer the look of LED in those 90's B/W games. With the smooth animations of modern Sterns, however, I think I'm leaning LCD.

Quoted from epthegeek:

I think the newer games that use 12 levels of brightness (16 in SPIKE) suffer a bit on the LEDs because the dimmer brightnesses aren't as distinct and the points of light get small. Pretty different from the 3 levels of brightness in older games.
But everybody likes different things for different reasons, so good luck trying to decide

Good to know! Thanks!!

I'm installing mine right now, and I'm at the step where it tells me to attach the ground wire to the DMD. I don't see a ground wire in the machine. Is there one for this particular game? I just don't want to zap myself...

Quoted from Dmod:

The metal speaker panel shouldn't need one as the display bracket should be grounded through the panel itself. You can verify this by doing a continuity test with a DMM.

Right on, man. Thanks!

So I've played a few games and all I can say is WOW!!!!! Best color DMD yet for the game with the best dots ever.

Quoted from cleland:

I can't decide if I like the classic looking XL dots or the Hi Rez option better.
Curious to hear others opinions.

I had a similar back-and-forth (and I normally don't care for the high rez look. Ultimately, I went with XL.

Mine displayed garbage the first time too. I ended up just pressing the menu button and selected the SAM option, exited and saved. I then had a clear picture. Not sure if this will work for you, just sharing my experience. Good luck

This was my experience as well.
