GAME 43 IS ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON!

ColorDMD Displays is excited to announce multicolor support for our 43rd game and it's RollerCoaster Tycoon!  This is the company's 12th new title release for 2016 with many more in the pipeline for release later this year!

Dave Timmer returns with his sixth title release following Road Show, Monopoly, Shadow, Demolition Man, and Apollo 13.  Dave has a large eclectic collection and loves the challenge and quirkiness he finds in some of the less widely owned pinball titles. When Dave isn't busy coloring games or suggesting and helping test new features, he runs a successful A/V business in Michigan with his brother.

The ColorDMD for RollerCoaster Tycoon shares the same hardware platform as previous ColorDMD releases.  All displays ship with the factory installed SIGMA ROM that supports WPC, WPC95, SAM, and Whitestar platforms.  Multicolor operation is enabled through download and installation of a game-specific color ROM file, available from our site.  ROMs can be changed at any time, allowing use with any of our supported titles.  All ROMs support six different rendering styles including high-resolution upscaling.

Displays are shipping now from our store site or through our distributors.  The color ROM for RollerCoaster Tycoon pinball machines is targeted for release by Friday, July 29!

Watch our site and Facebook page for upcoming previews from RollerCoaster Tycoon, as well as upcoming announcements regarding new product updates and releases! For more information, please visit us at www.colordmd.com.

Quick work DAVE. I sold him my RTC to do this just a little over a month ago. Looks good!

Video Preview for RollerCoaster Tycoon, courtesy of Dave and Chris! The color ROM for RollerCoaster Tycoon will be released on Friday, July 29!

They just keep rolling out.

Chris did a great job with the crappy quality recording! I just couldn't get anything decent out of my camera, it blew out the colors and made the darks way too dark.

I'll have to try a game play video later.

Lopan, you need to come by and see it in person!

Installed in my RCT and the colorization looks great. Unfortunately, when I go into the game's service menu (PORTALS), and go down to the Diag sub-menu, the ColorDMD screen goes blank. If I revert to the Sigma firmware instead of the RCT colorized firmware, the problem goes away (the game's Diag sub-menu displays fine). My game contains the latest, greatest CPU ROM (7.01) and Display Rom (7.00). What am I missing?

Hey Paul, thats an oops on my part with coloring the game, nothing wrong with your hardware or colordmd. I'll fix it soon.

#25 2 years ago

This game looks soooooo great in color.

Aside from that, great colorization! It's one of the best I've seen so far.

One little wish list item for the next update... On colorized frames that display G-H-O-S-T, A-B-C, and R-&-D, lit letters and unlit letters are a different shade of the same color (lit letters are "brighter"). It looks great, but I wish the lit letters popped out more (or the unlit letters popped out less) so that a quick glance is all you need to instantly know which ones are lit.

What contrast setting are you using? I usually use contrast of 3 or 4 so the shades really show well and look good.

Good call! Setting Contrast to 3 did the trick for me! My Backlight is 5.
