Quoted from MrSanRamon:Well, I've had a ColorDMD in my X-Men for about 2 weeks now and I'm going to go against the grain here and say I'm personally underwhelmed.
For the $400+ cost, it wasn't really worth it in my mind for the colorization of the dots. It's sort of cool, no doubt, but other than that I don't think the cost is justified by the results. When playing I really never look for more than a few seconds, intermittently, at the DMD.
I guess for the bragging wow factor when people come to visit it is worth it to some people, but the quality of the colored dots and the price leave me thinking that I could have spent that money better on something else.
Not saying it's isn't a sort of cool thing for (a while), just isn't my thing I guess.

This is exactly how Gary Stern and Stern Pinball feel on upgrading their DMD.
